Charging small 1S LiPo

I have discovered an anomaly with charging the Overlander 380mAh 1S I use for the school club Hubsan X4's. Some were appearing to have reduced flight times after charge.

Each test was compared on the SAME charger, but two differing make chargers were used overall and the same anomaly obtained.

If I charge ONE cell at rounded up 1C rate so set to 1S 3.7v and 0.4A it charges the LiPo to 4.16v (every time)

If I use a five way parallel lead and charge FIVE on the same charger at the same setting it charges every one of the five batteries to 4.21v. (even voltage on every cell every time regardless of age of cell or combo of cells as long as five used)

The batteries which cut off at 4.16 will charge to 4.21 when parallel charged with others to make up the five.This is measured with a decent multi-meter, no dodgy tester.

I'm assuming that the charger cannot work as efficiently as it should and cuts off early when the capacity is very small, and parallel charging just shows it a more suitable capacity load.
