Maiden Flight.

Finally got fed up of seeing the GeeBee gathering dust on the bench, so decided it had reached the now or never point.

Super evening so went straight to the airfield after work, checks complete and went for it.

Climbed out beautifully and at about 100 ft started a gentle left turn and then the fun started, mega glitching with motor stopping and starting so I decided to close throttle and try and glide in, well actually more like dive bomb, the GeeBee is no glider.

Managed to arrive more or less under control and it was in one piece.

During the (very) short flight I was pleased with my results aerodynamically but disappointed with the radio problem, however I think the radio is probably easier to resolve than some fundamental build issue.

Attached photo taken post flight complete with celebratory beer.

I was unable to solve the severe glitching problem that nearly cost me the model on it's maiden flight.

I have now converted to 2.4 gig and all seems fine on the ground, I am hopefully going to give it a proper maiden flight as soon as time/ weather allow.

It's been a long time coming but hopefully worth the wait.

Anyone here still flying their Jamara Gee Bee Z, i recently picked one up that had been built but it looks unflown. It is fitted with an EMAX motor to which i am adding an 11x7 APC electric prop, 40 amp controller and a 2200 3s flight pack. I have put the ailerons on separate channels so i can get some differential on them and some expo. Any advice on control throws apart from max on the rudder?
Will post some pics shortly....Martin
