I seem to remember a TV or radio investigation, not long ago, into ultra-fast charge batteries and they found the term "Flash-charge" had an unfortunate literal meaning. Getting that much energy transferred in such a short time requires a very high charging current (getting a 1Ah battery charged in 5 minutes requires a minimum of 12 amps) and this led to catastrophic failure rather more frequently than would make it a safe product.

Perhaps things have moved on.
