Frsky X6R binding issue
« on: October 23, 2017, 11:52:01 AM »
Hi Guys.
Not an enormous problem , but would like to resolve it.

Setting up stuff on my Horus X12S, I was using a Frsky S6R rx, had no problems binding it to the horus, thought I would try a similar set up on my Taranis Qx7....................... Just can't get the S6R to Bind with the QX7, both trannys are on their respective latest FCC OTX.

As can be seen from the attached photos the only difference is the Horus has "(18ms)" after the channel 1-16.

Done a bit of searching on this and a few people seem to be having the same prob with various Taranis Trannys, but I have not seen a fix yet.

 Any ideas ?

I had trouble getting my new QX7 to bind with my V8FR-II receivers (15 of them) I found that many of them took 2 minutes or more holding them in bind mode, before they did actually bind. With a bit of patience they all eventually did bind.

                                                      Hope this helps

There's interesting !
Have a similar number of V8FR-ll myself, these will only bind in D8 mode (not available on EU firmware you need international firmware for D8 to work on the QX7), mine have all bound instantly using the jumper on signal pin of channel 1 & 2 while powering on the rx, Is that the way you were binding ?

Frank,
I realised I needed to have FCC firmware on my transmitter so ordered it from T9 Hobbies. Because I thought it was not binding I sent it back only to find the problem was not waiting long enough for it to bind. My later receivers still have taken a while to bind, I'm using the same way as you with jumper pin on CH 1&2

Nealsdad.
My QX7 came from Gearbest so it was on FCC firmware from the start, it bound with all my rx's no probs apart from the S6R, as I said in my OP.

Seems the S6R is firmware sensitive, changed the firmware on it to FCC and it would then bind with the QX7 but not the Horus, change it back to EU and it would not bind with the QX7 but would with the Horus.

The answer was, when the Horus was Flashed with OTX non EU, the flashing changes the firmware on the tx but not the firmware on the rf section and as mine was UK supplied it still had EU firmware on the rf section. It is only when you flash back to FrOS FCC that the rf section is changed.

Having done all of that and now have both tx's running FCC (have left the Horus on FrOS to try it for a time) and the S6R on FCC, that everything binds with everything !!
