I only ever owned two MDS, a 48 and a 218.
I sold the 218 before I got a chance to run it but the 48 was OK for what it was.
IIRC it didn't like nitro at all and used to run on fai fuel, it flew a wot 4 with the same sort of pizazz that my 46 Fx provided but on much cheaper fuel. I also found the silencer would fill with unburnt oil a problem that was quickly resolved by making a series of radial saw cuts in the periphery of the conical insert.
One day, just after starting it the after part of the silencer fell off I found the connecting bolt had corroded through.
I sold it to a bloke in brum for marginally less than I gave for it. I was lucky, I guess.
