TARTAN T7i (22cc petrol)
« on: August 26, 2017, 20:40:53 PM »
I have recently acquired this engine and everything seems to be in order.
Has anyone had any experience with this engine or any knowledge of what they are like in terms of power output.

      Thank you. :)

I had one Owen.

You probably don't want to hear this, but ig was a useless, gutless, unreluable heap of junk.

Even Mr Mitchell of this parish hated it.

The Tartan 22cc single was a very nicely made piece of junk. Crisp casting by the Italians was good  but it had the unreliability of Fiats and Alfa Romeo's of the time. It might run ok with modern synthetic based  fuel with oil at a much lower ratio similar to the Big Brute used in Big old SuperTigers . Does it have the ST carb or a Walbro type
Take off's are optional ,landings are not !

Used to have the glow version, not the most powerful of engines but exceedingly easy to start and very reliable, would run equally well backwards being reed valved
