Global RC- Sukhoi SU29

My beloved wife just bought me one of these Global RC - 89" SU29 50cc as a birthday present on the condition that I clear some of the kits, bits and pieces out of the back room, shed, garage and loft!  It seems like a good idea really because fitting this beastie out is going to require a few quid to do it justice.

Plan on doing an online build log - of sorts. Not a follower of fashion so will try to build the standard kit to a decent specification to balance performance, cost, reliability and weight.  I will try to have a reasoned argument for each decision that I make, and would appreciate the same for other people’s opinions.

This could take quite some time !

Currently 42 planes and 1 Helicopter! Perhaps I dont NEED them all but I want soooo many more !

Nice aircraft, I've seen a few of the Global Kits now and they are incredably good value for money interms of construction quailty and flying performance, I don't know if you have got/ordered an engine yet but make sure its a DLE55! There absoulte power houses and will be a perfect combo with the SU-29, I've got one in a PilotRC Extra 300 88" a great engine  :af

If your after anymore opinions on equipment to use just shout as theres a fair few people on here running 50cc'ers and above :af

Thanks Toucan, Already have a Yak 54 with DL50 so not a total newbie :af

The DLE55 is top of my engine choice right now although the MVVS 58 also looks good.  Price will probably decide it- DLE being the cheapest obviously

I too will vouch for a DLE55, dare I say it, even over an MVVS, having run both of them in the last 12 months. The MVVS comes out very heavy in comparison and also comes with its own mounting issues having to cut lots of bits out of the firewall. Obviously the MVVS does have the better name with years of people to back it up, but I have 3 DLE55's now and can vouch for them all the way. Personally these days I see little point in spending any more than you have to when you can get something very very good at that sort of money. I found with my MVVS I had so much weight (the batteries) so far down the fus that it upset the flying characteristics having weight so far from the C of G to compensate.

Looking forward to seeing your build and which way you decide to go, best of luck  :af
