Hi Ian,and everyone else too !
Yes thats the one.
Macchi  MC 202 Folgore.
Heres a painting  to unsettle Neilly if he looks in !

Strangely the machine was named " Dai Banana " not sure how the Italian-Welsh-Caribbean connection works though !
This three view ( In my Marks and Spencer  book of Fighters of WW2,  from 1985. £2.50 A3 format and 30 colour three views ! ) was the initial inspiration.

I`ll start a thread soon.

I`ve got a question though about wing sections that some of you Scale buffs or aerodynamics sages might be able to help me with.
Most of the stuff I`ve built has a flat bottomed or semi symetrical wing section. BT stuff for example. The Dennis Bryant 202 plan uses what looks like a fully symetrical section.
Is this unusual for a model warbird and will it have any significant impact on its flying characteristics ?
Regards,Dennis.
Ps . Your house looks beautiful, are there any bedrooms in the Guest Wing ? Is there a wine cellar ?

BEAUTIFUL.......been away for a few days Dennis, so missed the test flight pics.....looks absolutely fantastic mate, superb job. :af :af

Nice subject also on the 202............section should be OK, Dennis knows what he's doing and I've seen several of his other designs fly well. It's not a slow flying model, and has V little wing taper.....(I assume this question may have been prompted by my comments on Cliff's VAL thread?)......if so, I wouldn't worry, the VAL is slow flying, and with a pretty nasty wing profile in model terms....totally different to the 202................so I'd get stuck in and get her started  ::cc

A tenuous connection at best (and nothing to do with the Macchi), but one of the British prosecutors at the Nuremberg trials who subsequently became Home Secretary in the 1950s was a gent who rejoiced in the name Sir David Maxwell-Fyffe.  He was known in Wales as "Dai Bananas"...

Fantastic job on the CR32 - full of character, and an interesting choice with the Macchi - best of luck!
