I'm after a glider carry bag for a Lunna, who knows where I can get one from please, and South Coast don't have any at present.
Thanks

I know you believe you understand what you think i said, but i am not sure you realise that what you think you heard is not what i meant.

I think Phil might have been referring to my Luna bag.

I looked into the possibility of making glider bags as a little cottage industry with my Mother in Law who is a professional seamstress and who has an industrial machine.

I’ve made my Acacia and Luna bags on my wife’s machine, which really isn’t up to it. When it came to the Luna bag there was a bit of “input” from some of the Cornwall guys. The suggestion was that it would be good to have a bag that could be a cover to protect the model from sun and rain, as well as the usual knocks and bumps.

So the Luna bag has a set of padded shower proof part covers that then sit into a padded outer cover that doubles as an assembly mat. I went for a light coloured inner to the mat to show up screws etc.

The Luna bag is rather OTT. I dare not think of the money I spent on material, quilted material and foam, not to mention something like 50hours of work.

With a bit of luck there a 4 pictures showing the closed bag, the bag/mat opened out, the glider parts in their bags and the assembled glider wrapped up.

Keep your eye out in Lidls.
They do snowboard and ski bags that are perfect for up to 3m size mouldies.
They were only 7 quid but I have'nt seen for ages.

Glad you are enjoying the Blaster2, it is a great model. Are you DLGing it or using it on the slope?

I thought I had a Hyperflight sig that would show I was promoting my stuff, but you are right, I should have made it clearer.

Thanks Patriot.

Slam, if you want to ballast the Blaster2 when sloping it I recommend a sheet of lead sandwiched between the pylon and the wing.

We have received a new consignment of Plane Quiver Glider Bags, so we now have bags ranging from 43" to 80", plus back packs.

Also we have upgraded the HyperFlight electric RC model gliders. Suppliers of Supra F3J, AVA F5J, Blaster F3K, Sprite, Pulsar, Variometers & DLG parts web site to allow customer reviews and comments to be left against any product. Look for the write a review link below the product name.

We really appreciate receiving feedback, and good or bad, as that allows us to improve our service and product offering. As a thank you for your time taken we will email a £5 voucher for reviews submitted.

A little late in the thread but I have found fishing bags seem to fit the bill really well, Not like a proper glider bag but as a second option they work well for me, even have sections almost made for the fuse :)

These look good. Silly Q... Are they one glider per bag or can you fit more in? Or, can you get bags that fit more than one in?
Thanks

The Plane Quiver bags are designed for two planes per bag. The cheaper Vladimir's bags are intended for one plane per bag, though with care more can be squeezed in, depending upon the wings size of course.

I've got a plane quiver back pack (bought from Neil).  It fits in 2 3m mouldies.  However, that's two with 2 piece wings (which most models have nowadays).  with 3 piece wings you have to put 2 panels in one pocket, but there is enough room. There are attachments on the side for the 2 fuselages and one at the bottom for other stuff (my flask usually). There is a large pocket on the front, where I put my ballast.    It certainly makes life easier in my view.  Although it doesn't offer the ultimate protection of the correx boxes some people build, I know which I'd rather take on a long walk.

I've also got one of Neils padded bags (the 55 or the 69 quid one).  This is really a "luxurious" bag, the padding is really thick - your model is well protected in here.  it's really designed for one model, but you can get more than one in.  It has 3 pockets so it's good for 3 piece wings, although there is plenty of spare room. There are straps to hold the fuse down and pockets on the inside.  The padding and insides are such that you don't really need anything else to protect the wings.

Other than that I use those snowboard bags from lidl, but they are now redundant as I really only use the plane quiver backpack. but then I usually take 2 models with me, so it's ideal for my needs.

Whoops I've written two mini reviews here and done myself out of 2 x five quid!  :banghead:

That the one you can tuck in the cockpit to save you carrying one down the hill to the wreckage. If you do a propper pile in the receiver, batt and serov can self place themselves inside.

nice one Doc  :af

Also popular for F3x is custom made correx boxes - better protection than bags, build your own to suit for very little cash - even add a carry strap/handle.

I just made up a bespoke correx box with carry strap and all for my Bedlam.  When the wife saw the result of my labours she forbade me to ever fly that model again, in case I trashed it and ended up with this useless but beautiful custom box.. $%&

Well, the tailfeathers and ailerons aren't made of packing material (balsa), they can now be thrown into the bottom of the van without worry of damage.. :af
