After losing control of the car last night in the snow (sh1t scarey but no damage done), we're not going to risk tonights ice so will be down in a couple of weeks time rather than this weekend.
 :'(
Hopefully the winds will be a bit better too. If you do get out, have a good one shag(s).

the one thing that puts me off RWD, i'm a bit heavy and leary when i want to be, and i can get away with it, FWD
i've quite enjoyed slippy conditions in the past

snow socks are where it's at for getting you out of trouble

I've got a tricky choice, big fat FWD Audi estate with optional snow chains, or little nimble RWD BMW without...

Last year I found the BMW was actually easier to drive in the snow - but only because it's got really good traction control and a manual box instead of a slow slushbox. More immediate control and much more feedback of what the wheels are doing.

Lots of rear wheel drive practice in fields, snowy car parks and gravel strewn farm tracks when I was younger helps too... practice makes perfect!

Oh, hang on - it isn't 'fly it like you borrowed it, land it like you stole it', is it!
So that's where I've been going wrong...

I use to be happier driving the 911 in the snow than the Disco.

As long as you respect the loud pedal it looked after you and was light enough not to get all carried away with itself. The disco on the other hand is quite a handful. Once it gets sliding it's very difficult to gather up and control, and offten required jabbs of power to get it back.

Given the Jags diabolical lack of grip on a wet field I'm really not keen to try that in the snow. I suspect a tea tray will have better directional control and grip.

Busy Saturday and Sunday morning but free for the rest of the time (unless she who wears the trousers tells me otherwise).

Winds are looking light and mist is forecast but what the hell . . .

I'm heading up to Staggie later today as tomorrow is now looking fairly pants in terms of wind strength. Likely to be up between 13:00 and 14:00.

Strange, down here it's usually good until Eyeboy turns up...

Luckily he tends to turn up about three hours after the arranged time ;)

Just a little note to all the 'locals', I'm calling W Cornwall home for a coupla weeks end of April, coming from Canada (Montreal) to stay with a good mate and his family. Staggy looks to be about 40mins away from my temporary residence, so I suspect I'll be going there alot! I'll post up anytime I'm off to the cliff or try to join up with anyone, anytime there is a plan. Can't wait!  :uk:

Mate, for a minute I thought you were implying that I was not as good a glider guider as you. Then I realised that you were obviously joking. Irony - I get it.
