An HP60 kit for sale-doubt it, wish I hadn't cut the tips off mine now. They should be back in stock soon anyway which I will probably order three. If you want one let me know. I do have plenty of new stuff for sale. The 5/2 DI laminating film from the laminator warehouse @£2.35 per metre plus postage.
Also plenty of 75 mil new stuff- not too bad on curves ie tips etc. £1 per metre plus postage.

I am also considering selling an Extreme DS Reaper ready built with 3150 servos and battery, just needs receiver. Double taped and carbon pro-filmed. Open to offers as I don't think I will get round to flying it.  www.southpacificmodels.co.nz

moosey you should have bid for that p4000 on ebay. a hp60 will cost you over 200 to get in the air. I had one, to be honest, it's not my favourite plane.  It's one of those where you cannot get the right set up.

 My HP60 sang, clipped it down to 50" cause I bust a tip at Mickey's slope just before a final. Ask N-Tropic. I won that final with a taped on tip and the re-run cause Shane didn't like his flag man... .

the hp60 tail does break off more often than not.......

I am said Deck Stuffer lol - jeez that was a baaaad day!

Anyway, you can land them without breaking the mount - you just have to not think foam when you land - think more mouldie without any kind of crow/ flap whatsoever and you'll make a better job of it!

But by heck it's a super model - I bleedin' love mine. Yes it's not the easiest to set up right, but you can get them right and they're sooo satisfying to fly. Before mine got a bit dirty (she'll be reet, just needs some tlc in the shop) it was set up to fly hands off either way up, literally for as long as you want. Amazing for a wing I thought... I never fly it other than fully loaded, and I've flown it in conditions from as little as 8mph and up. Just needs care in the lighter stuff, but you can still get it crankin'. Heartily recommend them to anyone who's after an ownership experience that's that little bit more emotional!

Having said that, George had a go on mine, but he no likey!

no Zim, not quite right  dude...I just did not like the way it was diving all the time... so I put 3 clicks of up into it...
Also, it was on a new slope to me, in the snow,  f cold, with your plane,  so all things considered, it adds up to a not very posative assessment of your wing mate...

But, the last thing any of you need to be doing is listening to me!
You like em so that is good enough for me dude!

the m60 is a much better model, IMHO.......... the hp60 can be made to fly well I'm sure, but to get the best out of it you need a rocking wind and a good hill.  yes you do have to treat it like a crunchie, which rather defeats the point seeing as crunchies are much better.  (and no I don't mean high price big mouldies.  A heavy, foam core conventional winged 60 would fly better than a foam hp60 and probably need repairing less often). 

The whole tail area is not a picnic for building either. you have to set the amount of reflex at that point which seems a bit haphazard. 

But if you already have an M60 and love it then the journey moves on into HP60 land
I have to second the M60's.
If you ever see a kit up for sale then snap it up. They are fantastic fun. Granted a mouldie 60 will fly better but for me at least, the M60 has some halfpipe voodoo magic that just puts a grin on my face.

the basic problem for me mate, especially concerning the tail, is that the model is best suited to very windy days and great lift.  Now she isn't exactly light as a feather.  Add that to flying in strong winds on big energy days and you have a heavy, high wing loading plane, that you can't slow down that needs to be landed very carefully.  It doesn't add up very well in that regard. 

Certainly I suspect a well tuned in one, flown in the right conditions, would be excellent, but personally I would rather have a more dedicated sled type "normal" plane like a jart or whatever.  He (Matin Tarez) stopped making them for a reason, which I believe was the tail mount, both in terms of the build and the fact that it falls off all the time.......

Anyway, that's just my assessment of the model.....

Are'nt NCFM trying to come up with a better tail mount system to get the HP60 back into production.
I get the impression it's a bit of a marmite glider but there's still a lot of sales to be had.
I personally love the more active hands on flying approach with fast foam. Putting reflex onto a tranny slider was the best move I ever made for foamie wings. Not to mention a venue like Westbury is perfectly suited to foam (small and high lift) hence an HP60 adds up for me.

I can't take any credit. The yanks have been doing it for ages on combat wings and Zippers.
I find you'll make the initial reflex adjustment at the start of the session and not need to play too much. It's no different to a trim switch but with a throttle or slider control you can keep your hand there and minutely tweak.
Good for planks that are on the c of g edge.

As far as I'm aware the Zipper is a particular case as the aerofoil has more of a pitching moment than a plank's aerofoil would ideally have. Hence why the Zipper is now offered with a PW51 rather than the original, and it is apparently faster and more efficient for it. The pitch force changes with speed on the original Zipper, this is why the whole throttle stick thing came about. A better suited aerofoil with a neutral CG will not suffer from this. My HP, for example, is completely neutral either way up, over a reasonably wide speed range (as wide as can be expected for a heavy anyway!). I would imagine that the Moth would be the same. I don't recall Slam having an issue with trim changes with speed with his M60 either, and that won all the rounds it entered in when it went to EPP60 in Wales a couple of years ago.

So I think it's a Zipper thang, and not the new Zippers with the PW51 at that.
