Absolutely fabulous Pete - I knew that Purbeck jobbie was going to be the biz!
We've been a bit unlucky on canopies recently - how did you break yours Paul?

came in a bit hot on the landing, so took off again straight into Deryck  :embarassed: also one of my aileron servos messed me about,
on a more positive note the rudder doesn't fall off anymore though!

I've sent an email to get a price for the replacement, but may make my own carbon one...

Hey Allen, my 12 year old son was with us up Long Man all day yesterday, and it went well.  Just goes to show that "dragging whiney kid to flying session" can work...

Yesterday was a super day for it.
I was going to do it on the evolution F3J, but I bust the flap horn on landing and that ended that.  :banghead:
Next time.
Jon

Today Matthew I am going to be wing section MH32.

Well looks like you guys had a great day.  :af  That Purbeck looks great.

Suns out here in Essex, should be flyable in about 30 mins or so, so I have a couple of jobs to do then might go and take a trip to the field.

Lightweight :-) I've been out on my bike today for some more pain.. But I have been on ebay looking at golf trolleys to make carrying gliders uphill easier..

Have you seen the fellas from ESSA with their carts stacked high with gliders, I was chatting to one of the guys last year and he was telling me you need an old wheel chair.  Its all about the big wheels, a golf trolly may work, but not as good as an old wheel chair.  :af

I think a trolley is a definite requirement if we do LM again. It was a great day so I'm planning to go back when I get a chance. Some quality trolley details here from the LGRA massive- http://www.lgra.net/htmldocs/news/trolley_build/index.html

The more I think about doing my new canopy in carbon, the more it makes sense. Afterall I won't be entering any scale contests, and as I seem to fly into Deryck on a regular basis I'll only end up having to replace the acetate one again some time soon!

That LGRA trolley is a proper manly construction, isn't it?  Scratch built, all angle irons and big engineering dept bench drills etc.

Meself, I'm wondering if an electric wheelchair would be any good...

That trolley looks a good idea but probably a bit over the top for the amount of use it will get from me..

Hi all,

Several of us flew Butts Brow today. It was a struggle at times, but mainly good.

Shortly after we packed up at 3 o`clock, there was an absolutely amazing weak thermal directly above us!...There must have been about 40-50 gulls in it, but as you looked up, it was almost a perfect circle of them rotating in the sky, & with nice perfectly roundf clear hole in the middle......I wish I had my camera with me. ::)

Fingers crossed for next week.

Looks like quite a bit lot of East in at the moment for Bopeep. I found it quite bumpy like this before, but I guess I should have had a wander further on, rather than sheltering behing those nice bushes. :)

Right all... two things...

We have a slightly different colour speedo in stock.

http://www.slopeside.co.uk/shop/aircraft/549~rcpl71016_p_dyc~Speedo+Pro+Mark+II+Thermo+Glider+Sailplane+Dark+Yellow.html

This one is yellow.. but the darker Oracover yellow than the regular 'bright yellow'. We think it looks rather nice!

Second and more important is this new speedo pro mark 3.

http://www.slopeside.co.uk/shop/aircraft/550~rcplspeedopro_xx~+Speedo+Pro+Mark+III+.html

We are about to order them in - so expect them to be around in 6-8 weeks.

Whats different? No more built up wing. This beast is damn as near a mouldie as you get!

Sweeeeet!

Allan. I think the Bopeep west slope will be best tomorrow,a bit of shelter from the wind. Should be there late morning about 11 ish.

I can't get out tomorrow but have a good time at Bopeep.  Wow, the wind will be 30-35 on the hill, and with a high of 2 degrees it's effectively going to be sub-zero.  You guys are well hard!  Make sure your batteries are in good nick to cope with those conditions.

Looking like the wind will be right for a session on Hadleigh Castle on Sunday. I have not flown at all this year (other than as a passenger) so I will be going flying somewhere on Sunday, no matter what the wind does. (Providing 'er Indoors stamps my pass  :'' )

I couldn't believe how bitter the wind felt today.  Allen earns top hard core sloper marks for braving a hilltop.
