I couldn't believe how bitter the wind felt today.  Allen earns top hard core sloper marks for braving a hilltop.

Plus the six of us flying at Ditchling :''

certainly did, snuck across the river while no one was watching :'' first time at Ditchling not bad, but managed to snap my Banana in half, coming in nicely got to around 4 foot of the ground and a gust just flipped it, clean break, should be repaired in no time (Big Als got it)

Mark/Allen, Anything to report?

Where abouts did you fly, & what was the windspeed & air like? :af

Managed to snap my Banana in half

Keith

Bearing in mind how cold it was, I can imagine that was very painful! :-*

OK,  we're stepping-up the border patrols then!  ;D

Shame about the banana though.

Remember, up is up, and down is down.  Except when inverted - when down is up, and up can be very expensive

Hard luck Keith. I managed to hurt my Vec3 again!!   :'(  :embarassed:
But I have the repair well under way. It's a pity that you didn't come to Bopeep, there were 6 or 7 of us, great lift, lovely sunshine, flippin' cold!

Ian,
there were 6 or7 of us at Bopeep west side including JP, Tom, Jim, Allen, Mark and me. Lift very good but slightly cocked off to the east, wind 25mph+. Mostly mouldies flying + occasinally some full size. 2 guys were flying big stuff on the far east side.

Sorry to read about your Vec3!.....I have found that slope where the bushes are, can get quite bumpy with lots of east in it, & it can make the landing area pretty bumpy as well.

Its a shame I could not make it up there, & well done for braving it!

Was great to put the Alliaj through it's paces
both the alliaj and the RaceM took full ballast and half a stick of down to keep them on the edge
It was a shame about petes Vector It was LOVING the conditions
and the pub was quite nice too  :af

Great to hear the RaceM got an outing, I was wondering if you still had that.  I bet it was shifting huh?  I was flying your cast-off Falcon at Long Man last weekend, and I must say I really like it.  It doesn't feel fast enough to win any F3F races, but what a nice, well-mannered all-rounder.  The plane I reach for the most.

I wonder if the two big planes flying on the far east side at Bopeep today were the LGRA guys, that's where they fly.  If I recall right they said that slope is their favourite on the south downs, they reckon it's worth the extra walk.

Sorry to hear a Banana got snapped.  I've ploughed mine into the ground several times and weirdly it has survived unscathed.  But if it ever snapped I would definitely repair it.  Not the latest thing anymore, yet are there any newer 60 inchers that better it?  I can't think of any.

There is no doubt that the far east bowl at bopeep is the best but not a lot of protection from what felt like - a lot
We too thought it was the LGRA guys but it was too far and too cold to walk over

I`ve heard them say the exact same thing about that slope Gary, & want to try it myself some time.

Funnily enough, I was flying with them last week.  :)

It was the LGRA chaps, I met up with them in the car par. Have you seem their model transporters? Jolly good, they even have suspension!

Re my Vec3, repair well under way, glued the 2 halves together and sanded down. Pushrods were not broken and feel OK. Just waiting on delivery of some carbon cloth.

Their trolleys sure are smart!... I think these are the new improved version, & the suspension looks ideal. :)

Anyone up for a fly at Beachy Head tomorrow? $%&......I am going to have a go about 12-ish.

I don`t really fancy the bit opposite the pub with the risk of paragliders/walkers, but might try the hollow, or the big slope on the right of the hollow as you look out to sea.

Sunday is looking questionable now. ::)

Nice idea ... I would like to, but for me the long drive to Beachy is only worth it if conditions are going to be really good ... tomorrow the wind is looking to be low and all over the place ... and a high of 1 degree! ... but another time definitely.  Anyone who flies, please entertain us wimpy sofa flyers with pics!
