Actually he enjoyed watching every thing we were doing and he suggested some other areas we could use for flying.

BTW the Hook and Hatchet has changed hands and it keeps running out of beer and food - forewarned is fore armed.

I test flew this aerotow tug today.  It is a Multiplex Mentor and has an aerotow thingummy and release servo fitted.  One day I will dare to try actual aerotowing.  If someone has a small glider they don't mind getting wrecked, we could be a match made in heaven.

Great pics Paul and many thanks for your energetic actions on the field today.  Was a great afternoon of flying, sorry again Alan.

I had a reply on FQ about the glider....

    Quote
Hi I Think i do know a bit about this model it was made by the late John Purchase from the tonbridge club if you got it off southen model craft at the nat then it is for sure a John Purchase model. I use to fly lots of his models in the old days.I got in to my first fly off with one in 1991!! .He was a very very good at making a strong model He was a big help to me when i was a young boy learning to fly he is a great lose.I hope this is of intrest to you sorry cant tell you much about the model only about the man that built it.I hope you have a lot of fun and enjoyment with the model i did with all my one john made.
    thanks

So a lead on the builder of the glider known as "old_glider".

I thought my brief was "run like hell!" So that might explain the break!..

Great fun, and with a little training I might be able do some more towing..

I used to fly with John in the Kent and Sussex open thermal soaring events many years ago, a true gentleman and a gentle man as well. A sad loss.

    The truth is out!!

Try thinking of it as coaxing a diaphanously delicate dragonfly up on the thinnest line of silk next time.....like I said; my bad for the lack of a decent preflight Roll Eyes

We will have to do it again chaps, it was good fun and has huge cinematic potential!

I reckon you'll be alright with the bigger stuff, those Easy Gliders are a s.o.b to get up the line, especially when they're ballasted up with a motor and lipo Roll Eyes

I'll bring my Algebra next time, that pulls well.

I just need to make a new lid to replace the one I lost at North Chailey.

I'll dig out my bungee so that the EGs and other smaller models can go up on that instead of giving the towmen heart attacks - I've had mine already riding my bike up very steep hills - oops. I'm alright now, I've been replumbed!

I have to go down to Harrietsham tomorrow to view a pre-WW1 chassis, and it's a continued Easterly forecast, so might swing on round to Butts Brow before returning to Bromley, anybody else likely to be there??
