Have a look here  They have all sorts of 1/16" dia rivets and the tools for setting them :af :af

e.g. for snap head rivets use -

SP77 or AS155 - Black in colour - very soft
SP79 or AS157 - Green in colour - soft
SP80 or AS2227 - Violet in colour - medium

If you want csk or mushroom, use the same colour as above, (I'd only use the Black ones for decoration as they're too soft for anything else).

If you want a mushroom head instead of a dome (snap) head try under american and look for AN470 or MS20470 as they have a slightly smaller head than UK mushroom head rivets.  Go for A unless you need the strength in which case use AD

The rivits in the kit are brass pins with a dome head, pushed through a pre drilled hole and glued in place on the back face.

The problem with the brass pins that mudder's mentioned, is they are so bloomin hard, (being brass), they're a pig to install if you follow the instructions.  Whereas the 1/16" alu ones I posted are the correct size, a lot softer, and a piece of weewee to install :af

I'd use the violet ones for the faceplate and the locating plates, and the green for the cable clamps and the 'decorative' ones around the back and bottom of the cowl itself, but unless you've got the correct gear just stick with the green ones.

Just found some snaps for setting the rivets here, they also have 1/32", 3/63", 1/16" and 5/64" copper, steel and brass rivets too.

I bought some soft aluminium dome head rivets from Allfix, which I believe is a national chain.
The ones I got were 2mm x 4mm long.
They had a large selection of sizes available.
I used a pair of molegrips with the teeth filed off to squash them.

Hi All

just a quick post to ask those of you who have asked recently for clevises would you be so good as to pm me with info as in how many and if you want right hand threaded ones only or pairs of left and right, do you wand threaded rod, (you will if you are using flat wire) or do you require left and right handed solder extenders for wire, next experiment is to produce some left handed lock nuts,  watch this space,

  Chris

also been asked about cowls so any interested parties? if i get an order for 10 i,ll get onto the man to get them underway. just finished a pattern for large alloy spinners for albertross and one for the moraine shape for testing, will see what happens.
