Not sure if this should go here, not being scale. But if you have a Flair Attila, show me a photo as I have bought one and I wondered what can be done to make it a more presentable machine.

I'll try to sort a pic of the magnatilla I've nearly finished - I started a similar topic on the old forum and got some good ideas which has helped make it look ....different..

Here's my Attilla, which I greatly miss and wish that I hadn't passed the damaged airframe in to a club member all those years ago. There are few modelling memories as sweet as gentle chandelles and stall turns with the Attilla wheeling  in the dying embers of warm evening sun, with the little OS.20FS puttering away :'(

I bought the model from hanging up in the LHS and fitted the little OS sewing machine, that couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding but which was perfect for the Attilla. A momentary lapse, textbook cartwheel and busted up wing led to the model being retired and passed on. All I have left is the pilot (Baron Hans Offmetitz as was inscribed on the cockpit side) and the wing covering, which I used to have on my office wall as a "trophy".

cheers,

Brilliant. Love the artwork leccyflyer!

I have just collected mine and it's in the obligatory red, but otherwise it's a virgin canvas. I want some ideas.

There was a pink Attilla on ebay only just the other day, as it happens :''

How about this design--- :D :D :D

Here's the one I'm working on at the moment - Birthday Pressie for the Missus - No REALLY..

Anyway - I slightly changed the outline of the tailplane and added a few embellishments.
I rounded the top of the rear fus a bit more than usual.
Also added bracing wires to a set of cabanes over the cockpit.

Still a fair bit to do including the cockpit and coaming.
I've made the u/c sprung. The wire is just clad in balsa.

The cowling/nose is all done in lithoplate.

The dummy engine is actually made entirely from the spout off a petrol can....

Very, very nice! Not the Breitlung version, the other one. Loads of ideas for me there.  :af

Cheers...

Its the first time Ive covered a model using just the solartex as hinging material and I have to say I'm rather chuffed with the result - much neater.

I've done the stitching with fabric glue blobs under rib tapes-albeit only on the top surfaces....Lazyness set in.... ;D ;D

SC 52 4 stroke for power.

Haven't you robbed the filler neck from it for the dummy engine? Aren't jokes shite when you have to explain them!  :)

Any more? What about yours Syms?

Square - any chance of a few more pics with details of how you did it, eg the wires etc?

Here's mine in exactly the same condition as when I got it. I'm tempted to keep it to fly at one of the Old Warden events this year, if I did I'd make it look like a Pfalz E1 as in bottom pic.

cheers,
Sym.

Go for it! I'm very tempted to do it myself. We could have a 1/3rd scale of 1/3rd scale Dawn Patrol, lol.

Here's how the real thing looks... Well some guys plastic model of one anyway!

hi having built a Hannibal to covering stage i have been thinking of a scheme not wanting the usual Fokker red...thought about lozenge but not arty patient or capable of pulling that off :''
but i like the black(if it is black)...so what do you guys think.
i have seven meters of classic solartex left off a roll so how much will i need thank you for any input.

Syms colou scheme looks great. If you have classic tex to use, why not go with that? Sadly mine is already Fokker red, but I intend breaking it up a bit.

Hi Cougar,

7 metres of Tex will be ample for the Hannibal.
