yes, you did suggest that when i bought mine, but i just love the current prop mounting method, bullet proof and looks so neat so i am going to stick with the existing system and cut the rear bit off...

given my experience on the fusion, it builds quicker than it takes to read the instructions.  ;D ;D

Ahhh, Mr Sheep, if I may call you that, the instructions are written for people of all abilities.  From the beginner to the experience pilot!

Out of interest, how does the Fusion behave on different throttle settings? My old Limbo was a homesick angel when you opened the tap, which, to be honest, was a PITA...

I dunno...

Thanks stuart!

Alan,

The power is very progressive, I have been very impressed with the Tornado Range as the power is very linear, i.e 1/4 stick is 1/4 power etc.  The motor does need a degree or 2 of down thrust otherwise when the power is increased the Fusion will disappear heavenward!!  Setting up the motor is also very simple with card

Hope this helps

Gav

Clicking on the RCMF Review on your web site does not go anywhere.

Think I will move my leccy motor forward, my c of g is way too rearward (50% of wing chord) with the 2200 4S packs... And I want to remove some of the lead in the nose.

So, either a quarter ally plate on the front, or some of those small engine stand offs may be employed methinks...

Really?  That far back? Using the same set up mine balances around 1/3rd of the cord.  You may be better off pushing the motor out on solid mounts in my experience leccy motors do not like rubber mounting.

I`ll be at the following shows, it you get a chance pop along to Green Airs Stand (Pink Tent) for a chat.

Old Walden 9th -10th May

North Weald 26th - 28th June

British Nationals 28th 31st August  (A must see Weekend for any Aero Modeller)

Southern Model Airshow - 19th - 20th September

Or bin all that nasty electric muck and get a fourstroke on it  ;D

Why it flies perfectly well, can't see the problem.

Took all the weights out of mine and it flies even better now :af

Loving the Enigma Gavin. :af  Whats the AUW?

About 4.5- 5 lbs although I haven't checked since putting the gear in.

It`s currently running on the 3548 motor set up and puts vertically well with a 4s 2500!  And flew for about 6-7 minutes on its maiden - I landed early to prevent any engine cutting business!

Hope to test again this weekend, weather dependent, but it seems to fly beautifully, really slows up, you think the Fusion fly's slowly wait to you see this!!  Hall in up elevator and it just sits there gently nodding!

I've now made a decent start to mine, with slow but steady progress ::)

Both bits of the tail are now complete and ready for covering and the fuz sides are almost ready to be stuck together :af

I've gone with Hitec 5245 digital mini servos - hope they're ok?

Other than that things are preceding nicely. The instructions are great Gavin, especially as this is the first kit I've ever built :o

Steve

yes, there are definately two very different beasts in this design, fly it slowly and the cofg can go right back, speed it up too and it's still fine.

the difference with mine, is that the cells are about 1 1/2" further back than in the mitchell machine as i kept the shaft poking thru' the firewall as i preferred the fixed mount. did you Steve?

And, when running the 14 by 7 and maxing out for the comps, it gets very twitchy with the c of g so far back..

So shift the engine forward will allow me to move the battery about and tune it for the type of flying required at the time, without the need for ANY weight at all..

SORTED...

Here you go Stu :af

Tail feathers all done, nicely bevelled edges and all sanded smooth.

Fuselage sides done, need sanding though. The servo mount is cut for the hitecs with just the triangle to be stuck on.

All in all quite happy :af

Gavin let me have a go on the prototype Enigma a few weeks ago and I've got to say it flies and looks great, at least as good as the Fusion which is saying something.  :co

As for the Fusion, I built mine as a replacement for my ageing Cougar a few weeks before the Nationals last year :

BMFA British Nationals 2008

As you can see, it did me proud and I felt very comfortable flying it despite only having a couple of days to get used to it before the comp. As people have said it has such a wide range of performance and inspires so much confidence when flying low and slow for limbo's and touch n go's etc and has the punch for the climb and glide / spins. I'm not sure what makes one design better than another, but this one certainly hits the mark!

Looking foward to more Evolution designs now...
