would there be anywhere to find the full size plan of the Jasper on the E2K web site instead of the A4 size plan or a plan for a C2K model please, me and Bonzey are thinking about avin' ago.

I have the full size plans in .dwg, .dxf, and .tcw. formats

i'm afraid none of that means much to me but I belive most print/copy shops can print from one of these formats  :af

PM with you email address if thats any use  :)

The plan of the wasp(jasper free plan version) you can find them on
http://e2kpylon.webs.com/e2kkits.htm the pdf is already tiled for you then you just have to click print with  normal A4 paper

The diff are.
- The wasp piece are cnc cut out of liteply with small bit sticking out for interlocking the part together when the jasper plan do not draw all the small bit sticking out for interlocking.
- The wing as a kit is only £20 I think it will cost you more if you build yourself if you take time + material

I'm building one jasper as a trainer and the was kit as my racer plane unfortunately I doubt to have even one ready by sunday :-(

Can't wait to come watch my first race this weekend  ::)

ps: soon more then 2 pilot in e2k

I'm only using the jasper plan as a place over(problem with scale on the printer) what I build and I've cutted all my part by re-drawing the outline of the wasp kit.

Much easier like this and even got one fuz ready as a spare :-)

The draw back is that you have to spend the £39 for the kit

I'm not trying to make some kind of advertisement for cloud model but with only 2 years of scratch building this was the easiest and cheapest option for me.

Hi Guys
like a few people on here I too was inspired with the pylon racing at the Nationals this year  :uk: and have banged on  :banghead: so much to my flying buddies that we are all building or having built E2K racers.

Down here in the South we have not found anyone else so far that race so we are going to start our own branch hopefully at the Levels87 flying field near Pevensey East Sussex. ( going to be asking very soon  ;D ) The Levels87 club did dabble in indoor racing not long ago so we may get even more people interested if we can.
I should be testing the first of our racers very soon, weather permitting.
Hi NickK wont be long now !

we let you all know how we get on  $%&  :xx

Nice to see some more coming into E2K.

A south division sounds good, particularly in these days of expensive travel costs, but you really must put in the effort to fly at the Nats.

I think I spoke to you at the Nats if you need any advice just shout.

All the Best

Stuart

Hi Stu,

Yes I remember speaking to you, you kindly told me about the E2k class and gave me a look at your 2 you had in your car.
You also gave me your email address of which I carefully put in my caravan and have never seen it since !  :-\

Thanks for the offer of advice I will shout

A Southern divison sounds  good, I am thinking one careful step at a time though, and the wife and I are already planning to go to the Nationals in 2011, what would we need to do to enter the Nationals racing between now and August , apart from getting to grips with handling the racer ?

A southern league would be brilliant. Let us know the dates etc and i'll be there :af Also if you need a hand with the course etc let us know  ;)

Trouble is with this pylon stuff - even if you're rubbish at it like me you can never walk away and not want to come back  ::)

I actually was trying to bodge something together for Sunday but have run out of time and havent got the batteries anyway - so hope you fellas have a good day

Looks like i'll be seeing most of you next year  ::) ;)

Hmmmmm - the Nats

Let me know how you get on. If the south is where the competitors / competitions are then I would also come and join you.

Never been to that area much so travelling down on the Saturday and stopping overnight would be good.

Till then if you need any help please shout.

Stu

well everything was ready for the first test flight on Saturday morning, batteries charged, radio gear checked and rechecked, racer looks good ready to go... then it chucks it down with rain !  :'(

When it does stop the only local place we can go for testing at the moment is then full of football players ! typical.

we will try again soon maybe Friday afternoon if the weathers good. $%&

Hi Guys

Well Friday was out weather again but....

Today ! Monday, a fine afternoon was had with little to no wind,
Yes NickK to test our little racer we went to Bulverhive, apart from the odd dog walker we were footballer free !  :''

I was accompanied by 2 other will be pilots, so we got the plane ready battery in all powered up check the working surfaces all good to go.....

Mark our chief wing builder then took the plane and chucked it up  with me giving it 50% on the throttle and away she went  :)

apart from some trimming in which  i asked Mark to do when he took over she flew like a dream, Mark who was a  1066 flying club instructor then put her though her paces with a couple of full throttle passes and some very sharp tight turns to make sure she was good.

landing her after we exhausted the battery was interesting with 2 passes before she finally came back to earth, with a quick very short landing.

With the first  maiden now complete the guys are now buzzing pushing to complete their own so we can start getting to grips.

A very exciting afternoon

Glad it all went well and you were pleased with the results.

The forward C of G on these models can make for some quick landings. I now mix some up elevator in with the throttle. You will have to experiment to find the best setting but once done you will find the landings much easier.

Good to hear that there are others following in your footsteps.

E2K now has a new website and you might want to check out the tips page at

Stu

Think I have got another pilot to join in with your electric fun next season  :af :af I let him have 2 flights with one of my IC models on sunday  :af  On Monday morning he purchased everything he needs to compeat next year. One question he did ask me is "how many battery packs will he need for a days racing" ?
Cheers Chas.

Hi Chas  :af

The minimum I found I could get away with was 3 battery packs and 2 chargers although I normally had 4 packs as it was a bit less busy  ::)

Having said that with the modern 5c charge rates you could probably do it with just 2 packs and 1 decent charger - but you'd still be struggling if you crashed and damaged one of your packs  :''

Like Nick I used 4 packs and two chargers for the greater part of this year, it was only for the Nationals that I bought another two packs which really weren't needed.

It is intended for 2011 to do away with the 'C' restriction element of the battery rule.
