I see that Hirobo has been busy :)
Can now get a Freya with d3 head and they have launched a xx version of the shuttle plus 2. I see that 10s sdx is around 480 euros. But knowing Hirobo it will be the same again for the motor and speedcontrol :(

 :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(
it been raining here all day :( so the sdx has stayed indoors

if the weathers ok i'm at a scale fly in tomorrow, erm looks like rain again though :(

i remember being told that the shuttle was dead in the wind a few years ago by the raptor boy's and the same boy's now say the raptor is dead and the 600 is king
i don't think the 600 will last as long as the sceadu mk1 let alone as long as the shuttle

the freya with the d3 head is suposed to be a great machine, i could always try a freya with a d3 head and a d3 with the freya std head one day just to see what each head does to the flight perormance of them

10s on the sceadu/sdx electric would be a power house :) i realy must try the 9s set up on my sceadu

Weather cleaned  up its act quite nicely down this way this afternoon :nananana:
Hope it continues tomorrow, going to the fair at Hamstreet, lawnmower racing, classic car show and planes to boot :xx
Rain or not, will be a good day out. Will pop into Ashford Radio Flyers on the way there and see who is flying.Havent flown there for about 2 months.Trex city, but a couple of guys fly real nitro heli's.Even if it is only a Shuttle it counts in my book ;D ;D

Well, we landed up having semi decent weather afterall, sunny but a bit gusty. Not many takers at the club though.Thats the only problem with that flying field, on top of the hill, and if the wind is blowing anywhere in Kent, its there :P
The other club i belong to is much better in that regard, as long as you look where you are going, and dont step in the sheep exhaust ;D

Offline payne1967 wrote Re: Hirobo 50 sdx on June 08, 2009, 00:30:23 AM
the wind don't bother me, its just the wet stuff i won't fly in
and as long as you don't slip over or land in the sheep exhaust its fine by me
although i did auto the raptor 90 into some cow exhaust ;D when inverted the tail gears let go, my first inverted piro'ing auto, no damage to the heli except the stripped gears and a good wipe down of the skids  ;D

 :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
the sdx fly's great up until i tried to get out of an inverted hover i don't know what happened but it didn't pull out and went into mother earth inverted with no control on the head/cyclics $%&
so far the damage is the front servo tray the head button/yoke top, the shafts, the fly bar cage mount, 1 x link ball (this is missing the only part i can't find), 3x servo cases and the gyro case
i'm just about to order the parts :banghead:

OOPS :embarassed:
On a different tack, i have a couple of MHW mags that i havent had a chance to read, so today was the day.I have been getting that mag for a couple of years now, and never had any quality issues with it until today.I thought of you and laughed when the middle page fell out as i picked it up.Any guess what the article was about?
The review of the trex 700 ;D ;D ;D
I kid you not,no good on paper either :D
None the wiser as to why you put your sdx back into kit form?

Offline payne1967 wrote Re: Hirobo 50 sdx on June 08, 2009, 17:24:32 PM
i haven't stripped it down yet but i think either a servo failed or the see saw broke
it sat great in an inverted hover and then when i tried to flip it back over it started to go and then no control
and rip off max don't list the feathering spindle as a spare :banghead: and its the same as the d3's one

so the 700's true to form then ;D ;D ;D

You manage to get everything else? Was going to offer a spindle on "replace it when you get it" basis, but see you have reposted since i looked.Have a parcel coming out from SA modelsport at the end of the week, if you are short of anything, let me know. Will take about a week to get here though. :af

i've got hold of an evo head to drop onto it if the head parts don't arrive in time

so you've got a sceadu/sdx/d3 and i'll have a sdx/sceadu

Well, let it not be said that Hirobo suffers from compatibility issues ;)
What servo's were you running on cyclic's?

i was running the hi-torque digital futaba's from the trex 600
i think the trex is getting its own back for now being aligned with a good brand  ;D

All things considered, it is still lousy to loose a ship especially if you are not sure why :-\
I can plant a heli like the best of them, dont need help ;D

i'm going to run the evo head on it (when i get the head) until i know the sdx is ok
and then the sdx head will go back on
i haven't stripped the sdx down yet but i hope to find something even if its a build error then at least i'll know the heli is ok to fly in std form

i think this will be like my raptor 60 (now a 90) on its first flight the new gyro let go and it hit mother earth hard (it still scares the life out of me thinking about the one blade just missing my ear)
and ever since the rappy has gone well

well its a bit late/early in the morning but i think i've found the problem
a broken servo brush plate  :banghead:
i knew the 600 was upto no good, its getting it revenge back for the only time i crashed it ;D
at least i now know its not a build error or dumb thumbs thinking it was a fault

just a typo  :embarassed:
only the one head :D
it's a good job i was stripping it down to check it over before i used it as the head was built wrong and all the shafts were bent (i wasn't going to use the shafts anyway)
it now re-built with new shafts etc and fitted to the sdx :)
and the sdx parts still haven't arrived :'(

Not exactly like you have nothing to fly ;D
Cant you lower your standards a bit, and slum it for a while?
Fly your d3 ;D ;D
Tried to get a heli off the wall today, figured i would give it a charge and go flying tomorrow.
Mind was willing but the hands really were not :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Enjoy, but if you are planning on planting anything, plant the raptor ;D ;D
Have you had any dealings with Modelbearings? I need a few bearings for my sdx build and was wondering what sort of quality they sell.Am using the freya collective/elevator set up and need the bearings that fit into the elevator arm, 0414-134. :)

no i've never used model bearings, i either use a local company (central bearings)
or if i'm lazey i order them from midland helicopters from the bearing section

sorry no gardening today  :nananana:

Good man , Farmer Brown ;D
Enjoy the fly in.Am going to sit down and sort out some spares today, see what i still need. Will get those bearings, figure that they are not exactly mainshaft bearings constantly under load, so should not be a problem. :)

the fly-in went well
i had the whole pits looking at my bell 47 flying and ignoring the 3d at a 3d event :)
and they loved the md500 as well  :)
the d3 played up its now back to vibe heaven and the gyro playing up, i'm just going to have to find the time to take the c spec out and fit the hz motor into it  :banghead:
as mat from midland helis said "that sounds like one sick d3"  :'(
