Stuey Bristol scout is a small plane. at 1/2 scale it is smaller than my bristol fighter at 3rd. at 1/2 scale the scout has 11 ft ws and 9 ft fuse. so drop that to 3rd scale and it would be easy transport especially since the  wings are 3 peice. I was going to do it until I got commissioned to do this 1/2 scale pfalz fighter so the scouts on back burner for now. BTW 1/2 scale sout has a 26" cowl ))))

This manic headlong dash for smaller and smaller 1/3rd ww1 A/C puts me in mind of that classic ode "AN ODE TO A FLOH"               Little fleas have smaller fleas upon their backs to bite em.And smaller fleas have smaller fleas, so on ad infinitum. So good people we arrive at the smallest WW1 A/C up till now the winner being the Sopwith Bee. Unless, unless of course somewhere lurking in the archives there is one we dont know about YET. My choice is the British flying bomb, but I do know the Germans were mucking about with mini gliders round about then.Storage doesent seem to be a problem, Putting them on the mantlepiece in the living room seems the best bet. :laugh: Ken  ;copper;

..but. where is the evidence that the bee flew during WW1.... in the absence of that, then the PV7 is our smallest..  :nananana: :nananana: :nananana:

My 1/3rd scale is still at the cutting ribs stage but it will be done one day.  What happened to the thread ref 1/3 scale radial cowled being produced?

nice though it is, it will still be 98" when done and a little big for the dwarf patrol methinks..

88" maximum wingspan is my self-assumed maximum...  Didn't say how many wings tall though did i!

After discussing the DP thing I decided my Scout will be for me, no show stuff I'm not interested but would be nice to take to warbird meets.  Like you say Stuey a bit big bit I don't plan on it being my hack being taken to the field (wherever that will be in the future  :-\) every weekend.

that Martin Kitten, i believe, was a 1919 development. It seems strange that the Eastchurch Kitten was lost in shipment to the US and then Martin bring out a similar model the very next year.  :'' :'' :'' :'' named the KITTEN

Love the ailerons...  ;D ;D ;D ;D

So am I right in saying a full third scaler would measure...... 52" wingspan, 50" length and 32" height?

 :study: :study: :study: :study: :study:

Given a third scale pilot will be  (are Italians generically smaller $%&) 22" tall this has got to be a laugh..... :)

Been contacted by the grandson of a gentleman who actually worked on the Eastchurch Kitten whilst it was at Kent. He sent me this picture taken by his grandfather......

I already have the plans drawn at 1/3rd scale..... It's the "and build one" part that's difficult!
