hi steve sorry to here about the crash  :o

when you got to the plane did you notice if the ball link on the rudder (or any serface come to think of it) had failed?
reason i ask is that one of "dom" 's failed when he was building his
in the vid it looks like the rudder may have gone? on full deflection it is very powerfull  ???

That was my thoughts too as I had read that Doms had done that, but on inspection all linkages were in one piece, and still are. Its a very confusing one, but these things happen, lol  ;D

Hi Steve,

Really sorry to hear about the crash. It's always very sad to see a model go in but it's evern worse when you don't know why.

I recently lost my PA Edge 540 on its 11th flight but at least I know what went wrong. Pilot error :banghead: :banghead: Came out the bottom of a knife edge loop all out of shape, lost orientation and too low to recover it before it collided with terra firma. Complete bin bag job.

Your new model looks superb; it's interesting to see the different approaches Pilot RC and Global Rc have taken to uc mounting. Must say the Pilot RC method looks much stronger.

Best wishes,

Robin

Hi Robin

Well the U/C on the Pilot RC has now had a few beatings of my ladnings and is still holding up fine. To give you an idea of the difference, I have managed to break the plastic insert on the wheel on one occasion (replaced with decent wheels) and managed to bend the axle on another occasion (now being replaced with thicker ones, lol). But you get the idea, a couple of not so perfect arrivals and yet the U/C and mountings are all solid and in one peice. Some difference if you ask me. As for flying, still need to sort the C of G out and move it back a little bit as its a tad nose heavy for me, and I am still trying to dial in the right amount of movements that suit me, but so far, it flies bloody great and I had a lovely few flights with it today, its just starting to feel really really nice :)
