This year's project is to concentrate more on electric flight so I'm going to need to get some drive calculator software to help me with a few glow conversions.  The only one I've used is Motocalc, in trial mode, but before I go and splash $39 on buying it I thought I'd check what else is out there.

Any one using something different and how good or bad do you find it?

Here's a calculator compilation for you, most of them freeware:
e-flight calculators - RC Groups

D-Calc, Rad Badcock's calculators and the MM_Calc derivatives are popular in the 'power systems' and 'motor design' subfora over at RCGroups. D-Calc is also very popular with the German motorbuilders at

I 'run' the D-Calc group, download and version/release announcements mainly, it certainly will not swamp your mailbox. Make sure you de-select Yahoo messages upon subscription.
I'm not the D-Calc software author!

Thanks Ron, quite a selection there!  Which of these is the best freeware alternative to Motocalc, ie. similar features and capabilities?

I have no idea, I only collect and compile :) No experience with Motocalc.
