WOW Kiwikid, a brilliant slope side. T-shirts and shorts would be a dream come true here in Germany (-10 today).
I prefer to stay in the house and drink a cup of coffee with my wife. :study:

Not a very exciting video, but thats my relaxing part when i am off slope soaring.

Hi Tony
I think it would be well worth asking those Aussies (buy 'em a coupla tinnies sport) if you could put a link on the Sloperacer website to their vid for potential Willow owners to see just how much fun you can have with an entry level F3F'er :af
Like it. like it, like it.....so thatz three of us saying RIPPER! :)

One aspect I love about slope soaring is that it gets you out of the house and out to the beach or wide open spaces. I have also met some great people and formed long friendships through the hobby. I was just thinking the other day how fortunate I was and recalled a neat song by Louis Armstrong that always lifted my spirits. Had a bit of a look into my hard drive and threw a few pics together to make a vid to go along with his great lyrics.

What a Wonderful World

Built the G-S-48 about four years back. But after a few broken tail booms which originally were made from wood, carbon tow and sheathed in epp, I consigned it to the attic.

I dragged it out a couple of weeks ago, and modified it with a graphite golf shaft boom and a rudder.
Yesterday morning was one of those days :af, so I gave it a spin. Pretty nippy and aerobats well.

Wow amazing flying but did you put the tail fin on upside down, I think it is supposed to point up at least some of the time? ;)

Hi Rog- managed to squeeze the servos side by side as shown in the pic. I think they are Hitec 65's.

Thanks for that.
Been thinking it would be nice to have a rudder on mine. Will modify it know ive seen how to do it. And how much the rudder helps the flicks.

Thanks Rog :)

Yes, I am trying to spread the word far and wide. But the bigger advantage to visiting international forums is all the cool stuff I get to see from everywhere. And the nice thing about running the SlopeAerobatics.com site is that I then have a place to put it all. Think of it as curated content if you will ;)

Fullscreen & HD for best results. Make sure your sound is turned on or you'll miss the lovely soundtrack by American bluesman R.L. Burnside ;)

Nice one Steve! :af I see the weather opened up nicely later in the day.

Just as a minor comment that might help in future- you're getting a bit of "ghosting" of the image. I've had this before and think this is something to do with the fps of the original, compared to the fps of the editing software output.
For example if you filmed it on 30fps, and then edited on 25fps this might give the ghosting effect.

Anyway, 'twas a great day- hope to see you both up there again soon.

Chuckglider needs to deinterlace his footage. It's more to do with the way the camera captures the images rather than the frame rate.

Sounds good Paul!

I'm far from being an expert, but do some software editing programmes de-interlace as a matter of course?

I've heard the Bwlch "4th emergency service" is being called this week.

Tis unlucky to have two down in the same day Steve. I'm sure you'll get them back before long. :xx

Dare I say - apart from your disaster - the wind was quite good indeed on the wrecker - and the weather great.
A couple of Grass fires burning - a large one above Treorchy opposite our position on Wrecker and another top of Mickeys West (fire engine attending through the gate as we left).

Yes, I think for newer cameras and software it's not an issue. I used to use Premier and would have to deinterlace as part of the rendering process. I have recently got a new camera and am now using Vegas, there seem to be no interlacing issues (so far).

Chuckglider, you can deinterlace as part of the rendering process (if your software has the capability)

Finally got to fly the Seagull that Cliffhanger sold me a couple of weeks ago at Filey Brigg.
Wind was only about  5 mph so wasnt sure it would stay up.........but it did, and flew nicely, even attracted some attention from the local seagulls who seem to know there was a stranger in town ;D

Not the best filming but it was caught on my mobile by a family friend.
Nice flying spot by the way.

I've seen worse filming anyway... that looked fine. At least you managed to keep it the right way up  ;)

One day I'll have one of those. Or a huge eagle.

I have flown a Eagle of the same cliffs last year, but within minutes seagulls appear from nowhere and go absolutely crazy.
The noise they make makes everybody walking past stop and look up to see whats going on, quite embarrasing really but i still enjoy it :ev

Will try to find a clip of the eagle.

Nice one Cambrad- glad to see you got the set up sorted. :af

And at the first part of the video I see you've made an addition- a pair of rubbery type seagull legs!l LOL  ;D :D

The model has a wide wind speed range, up to 25mph at Rhossili (that's when it'll fly inverted!)
