Thanks Steve, the Corsair is mine. I love flying it as it can be flown slow to get in with the bombers but once the radial is opened up it is also a quick plane.

Yes it was a great slot , we always have fun flying the bombers close but the tjd team made the slot great , at times it got realy busy .That Corsair stuck to us like glue.

I can agree with that, I was there on the Sunday only, and you think you have seen everything, then come away thinking there was so much more you should have taken longer looking at, and so many more pepole you should have spoken to.
Those shots of the bomber/fighter slot look great! Actually watching it, it got a bit scary at times. they were flying very very close together, and even some of the heavies were getting buffed about a fair bit in the wind........Very impressed with the slot , well done chaps :af

great piccys,  but they dint even compare to being there,  and hearing 30+motors,  towards the end, the pilots got it well sorted--it was like Duxfords finale  easily my fav slot of the weekend

It was a Handley Page H 42
Yup the smaller one had 4 MDS engines and I believe the larger one had 4 x Zenoah 38s

The bigger of the 2 HP.42's (the one that flew over the weekend) belongs to Mike Eccles and is powered by 4 x ZG26's.

The smaller one (Alf Machin's.....sp??) is glo powered.......mixture of SC and ASP 1.08's IIRC

Thanks for that Steve, I knew who Steve Holland was as flown with him before at the Max show a few years back. I also spoke to Andy Johnson but for the others i just get a chance to chat before the rain turned up.

Hope to do the same next year and hopefully get a few of the Fighter Aces boys involved as well.

andy did say it was a busy slot i can see why now. i've flown at the hop farm with the redruth boys a couple of times and i always find the big model count slots much more fun. i would've liked to have seen that slot i will try to get back there next year. its just everything was against me going this year what with the 4 day week and overtime ban!! :banghead: mind you i will make bickley on aug 2nd :uk:

Hi Steve , I was flying the welly , George  with the Lanc and Steve with the Manchester , it realy was a great slot to fly in , the old welly is over ten years old now and is proberley comming up to 1000 flights but she is still great to fly if only the lancs were as good to fly.

Hi All,

I suppose I ought to post these pics, too :ev At the end of the day it was Dawn Patrol Press photo time............. A wee bit of indecision as to where the pictures should be taken....................

Over here - no over there - when along comes daft lad with his A-10 - seeing a gap & cameras about - photo opportunity time :''

One or two expletives later :''

& guess what the rotten bu@@er blame me - Oooh how could you :o

You're a bad 'un Ali Mach! :ev

That was good fun :D

And finally - the team photo

Got to admit I was a little bit guilty - but I plead ignorance, insanity & failing that - the fifth ammendment, your honour :D

Neil

Although your esteemed leader looked like he was about ready to either kill me or cry at the time.  :'(
I figured pron patrol was less derogatory than the alternative!  ::)

Here's one I grabbed. It's one of those models that looks bigger in the air than on the ground.........Not that it's exactly small on the ground though either :)

Cheers

Would love to................ :af

All being well, we'll have a couple of new models in the air for next season......1/5.5 Tigercat and my 1/6 B-26..........

I've always seemed to have had a frequency clash with Dave J so have missed out on a lot of these fighter/bomber slots.......all the Fighteraces pilots will be on 2.4 for next season, so that's that sorted  :uk:
