I have an electric glider, soon to have a 4 servo wing, to allow crow braking.

Common consensus is to put crow on the throttle stick and assign throttle to a switch and just accept full power all the time and hope you can get soft enough starts.

Is it possible to keep the throttle active as normal for climbing and gliding and then for the landing phase be able to flick a switch to assign the crow braking to the throttle stick?

After looking at the glider set up on the FF9 I find most of what you want is provided for in the standard mixes. You probably already know most of the basic settings, but I will attempt to go through everything, just in case you, or anyone else wanting to do this, are not sure how to.
First thing you need to do is switch on the Tx Grin

I will ignore the very basic selecting of menus, but if anyone is not sure how to do this just ask.

1/  Go To parameter and select TYPE> GLID<2FLP>
MODUL> Should be set to your Rx type PPM or PCM
                                             ATL> ON
 Press "End" button

2/  Press "Mode/Page" button and select "*BUTTERFLY" and change settings to:
                                                MIX. OFF
The following settings are just examples to show the set up. You will need to adjust them to suit the aircraft ( some, or all may need to be +ve , I have set them all -ve).
                                         RATE-AIL1>-  30%
ELVE>    0% (you will probably need to put a value in here, to maintain flying speed,
                                                                                                                                  when "CROW" is activated)
                                                 FLAP>-  30%
                                                 AIL2>-  30%
DELAY-ELE>      0% (Will need to be determined, by behavior of model, as in
                                                                                                                                           ELVE Setting above)
PRESET>  100%   (To sett this move throttle to top and press and hold the jog button.
Don't worry if it it comes out at 98/99% )
The Tx automatically sets the ON/Off Switch as "A"

The above settings will set your "CROW" braking to :- Switch "A" up     OFF
Switch "A" down Fully ON with the throttle in th lowest position
and reducing as you increase it.
IN both switch positions your motor will respond, but you don't want that, so to switch off the motor when "CROW" is active you need to set up the following mix: ( because you are set up for a glider channel 3 is called ARBK, but it still operates as throttle).
   Go to a " PROG MIX " , I will use " *PROG.MIX1"
                             On page <2/2> set:
                                                        MIX> OFF
                                                        MAS> ARBK
                                                        SLV> ABRK
                                                       LINK> OFF
                                                       TRIM> OFF
                                                           SW. A
                                                       POSI> DOWN
Now when you switch "CROW" on you will automatically have switched "ARBK" (throttle in your case) OFF
Now check it on the servo demo page and if everything looks OK set up your model adjusting %ages, in the "BUTTERFLY"
mix as required. You will need to fly the model and experiment with the "ELEV" settings.

Camber and Reflex set ups.

Camber/ Reflex mixes: As I said, there are two pre-set mixes already set up for this. However, perhaps they are not that easy to understand, so I will try to show how to set them up. They both are  pre-set to switch "E", with the centre position being OFF. Towards the back gives you REFLEX and towards the front gives CAMBER. They can be set to give a fixed position or a variable amount of movement.
1st Camber: The mix for this is labelled "*START OFS"
So first select this then set as follows:

Don't worry about any numbers in the brackets they depend on the VR setting. If it's set to NULL they will be the same as you have just set and if VR is set to a control switch they will depend on the position of that swich)

                       MIX> ON/OFF
              RATE-AIL1>-  25%
                      ELVE>    0%
                      FLP2>-  25%
                      FLP1>+ 25%
                      AIL2>+ 25%
VR>  NULL  (This will give a fixed camber when you move switch E towards the front)
or    VR>  +VrC  (If you want variable camber  SWITCH E  To front and vary camber by turning Vr C)

Now REFLEX this mix is labelled "*SPEED OFS"
Select this mix and set as follows:
 See note about brackets above.

                     MIX> ON/OFF
            RATE-AIL1>+  25%
                    ELEV>      0%
                    FLP2>+  25%
                    FLP1>-   25%
                    AIL2>-   25%
VR> NULL           (Fixed REFLEX with Sw. to rear)
VR>- VrB            (Variable REFLEX with Sw. to rear, adjusted by Vr B)
The %ages(25%) I have used in the settings are nominal and will need adjusting to your models requirements.
The ELEV settings will need setting to trim out any unwanted pitch changes.
You may have to reverse one or more servos (depending on servo/linkage set ups on your model).
As I don't have a Glider to try these settings out on I can only check them on the servo demo screen, so if you find any errors or you need any help please let me know.

Nice one Steve.

On my one and only electric glider I run crow on the throttle stick (in common with all my gliders) and throttle on the LH slider. The throttle kicks in as I push the slider through it's neutral point. Not ideal as the slider is easy to accidently knock 'on' and you can't see it as clearly as the throttle stick.

I might just try it your way...

I've linked to this thread from one I started a couple of days ago.

I'll be using this as the starting point for programming my new to me bird 60.
