I'm hoping to be there around five like the others, got to go to a job near Tetbury at four though so fingers crossed it's as quick a job as I think it is!  See you there hopefully.  Cheers, Ben :xx :xx

Just do what you normally do - short it out with a big flash bang, say it's shot, then tell them you can't get the parts, suck air through your teeth and tell them you'll be back in three weeks.

;)

(My dad was a sparky...)

Try to stay in the middle of the air. Do not go near the edges of it.
Flying is more difficult there.

What a coincidence.. my Fiktor has had it's wing clipped off short as well...by SparkyBen!

Me, Ben and Glenn met up at Leckhampton on the main bowl - we had to go right round to the left hand end because the wind was quite Easterly and *really* cold.

Loads and loads of lift in a moderate wind. Glenn and Ben had their combat wings up but I wanted to fly the Fiktor so I joined in... turns out Bens carbon fibre reinforced Beevo is a bit tougher than my toys EPP. Still, I was thinking about lopping the dihedrals down (or off) and sticking ailerons on it anyway, so that's half the job done.

Got my wing out for a bit too then, and we had a cracking session. Glenns plane died halfway - a broken horn/clevis I think. Poor build quality is undoubtedly the root cause  :ev

The landing was a bit touchy, especially my last one. Turns out that landing with my dual rate set to 'bloodlust' really works - I looped much tighter than I expected to come back into the wind and landed in my own face. First black eye I've had in years...!

Try to stay in the middle of the air. Do not go near the edges of it.

I've got this dirty grey streak down my wing now - I think it's Fictor blood! :ev

A cracking session even if it was freezing, the lift there was fantastic and a good range of wind direction too - deffo not just NE, big ish landing spot if it was N.

Yoyo we need pictures if that black eye comes up good and proper ;D

How was rodborough Andy, shame we missed you, roll on BST :af

It looks promising for Lesley's humps tomorrow PM.

If that turns out to be factual, Christine and I will be there. We might even have Harry the Typhoon with us.  :co

Anyone else ?

LOL well I only got to go out by promising to bring chips in with me...

Leck has more landing than I thought - round the bowl there it gets to somewhere between the small and main slopes at Haresfield. I might try the Heron there next time - it was too far to walk back to the car before the light faded this time. Roll on summer.

And ...err... roll on Lesley?

A classic case of 'incoming' if ever I saw one!

I like flying boats - I've been looking for a nice EPP PSS Catalina but nobody seems to make one.

One day I want one of these too (sorry about the music):

Well............................what a lovely afternoon on Lesley's humps.  :)

The wind was a bit to the right at times and the lift became a bit light, but at the other times it was surprisingly strong.

Strong enough for me to have three flights with 'Harry the Typhoon' including the maiden. First impressions are 'what a fine model it is'  :)
It has the capability to fly very slowly indeed with the camber deployed in complete safety when the lift fades, yet really pick up its skirts and rip along with the best of them when you ease the right stick forward. The slightest sign of some lift and it's off to the heavens.

I really liked our Luna, but I have a feeling that this model may be better on all counts...................early days yet I know. I am looking forward to finding out.

If anyone wanted a 'first, 4 servo wing, mouldie' I have no hesitation whatever in recommending this model.

Already, I like it a lot..............................

The Fridgeman fired off a few shots, I expect he'll be along later.

The forecast looks good for Lesley for the next four days. A bit 'iffy' for tomorrow perhaps, showers.

Very pretty... looks like it will shift a bit given the right conditions.

And with full house controls it should be easy to land too. I look forward to seeing it at Haresfield... ;)

LOL!! I know what you mean - it doesn't appeal to me greatly either. I am interested in the start of the race, any crahses and risky overtaking, otherwise i'm not so keen (even if Schuey is returning).

Nope, for me if the conditions are good on Sunday, I'll be on Lesley in the morning hopefully enjoying the best of the lift.

Had to pick up some kit for work from near WSM today, so I paid a visit to Sand Point. It's a lowish ridge that faces north just above WSM. It's on SlopeHunters site.
Had a cracking hour or so with the EppiSoar. Load of lift and more importantly, loads of room to land. Walked along the ridge for about half a mile flying my wing.  :co
Carpark very close and no mamoth walk - I'll be going back there!  :af

Oh Yeah baby. Grass at the bottom as well should you bum out (so to speak)  :embarassed:
It's not as high as say Froster, not far off mind at it's highest but the air is dead clean coming straight off the Severn estuary.
It's no Bwlch, but is an alternative to CLD with much easier landings and the option of a little XC  :af   The only other nearby option is Crooks Peak, but that's one hell of a walk up  ???

This is geoffer's video of it.
