Found the Audio swap feature on youtube and used it to add some music to the Vids above. No known music as such, so I had to listen for a decent fit. Hope youse like it :af

As you probably know, many music tracks are not allowed on U Tube something to do with copyright.
But no such problem on Vimeo which is why many folks use that (free) site.

Aye it was a grand day on Monday, looks like the rest of the week is downhill ???

Rest of the week does look pants indeed! :'(
I have got a vimeo account, but I don't have any editing software so the music on youtube will do just fine til I find a pot of gold, upgrade my computer and get some good software.

Weather forecast is now looking quite good for Friday and Saturday in South Wales and slack in the Midlands.
MMMM.... drive to Long Mynd? not if the current forecast is accurate! Friday Back of Wrecker and Saturday should be the crest. Mouth watering prospect :ev

And todays weather looks perfect for the back of the Wrecker. It is one of my favourite slopes at the Bwlch. I love the fact that if you fly from the slope in front of the highest point, you don't have to walk far for landing. And the view is beautiful on a clear, crisp day.
See y'on the slope :af

As I was driving through Ogmore Vale, I could see clag on the Bwlch :'(
It cleared up by about 11 and I then found out how hairy and unpredictable the Back'O'Wrecker is in a Southerly.
The area I was referring to in my previous post is pretty badly affected by the west side of the Nant Y Moel valley and gets beggar all lift and BIG sink.
I moved East a little bit to where the racing takes place and the lift was better, but maybe I have just lost my balls, cause I found flying today pretty uncomfortable and packed up by 12.30 to preserve my plane for tomorrows midland racing (hopefully).

I stopped off at the Wrecker on the way home this arvo for a fix cause the clag at the Mynd didn't clear and the wind was cocked. Beautiful, smooth, strong lift. Clear skies too :af Should have stayed local ::) but it was good to ahve a chat to the boys at the Mynd.

Was working today, home just in time to watch the "match" :-\. Misses is working tomorrow so I'm left looking after the kids, both being girls don't show a much interest in gliding. I might, if I can find any enthusiam, go in the garage for a spot of building.

Have you played with it (CNC) since the video's?
Is the plank the same as the one that was at the skirrid?

No and No  :)

The one at the Skirrid was 54" but otherwise the one I have cut  its the same but 60" span, but I've not done anything with the CNC since well before Christmas, weathers a bit milder this last weekend so feeling a bit more inclined to go in the garage  :)

I'm the one working Saturdays, not through choice but with other engineers off with flu, the couple of days missed with the snow and a lot of work generally means I have to work Saturdays until we are on top of things, it's better we have too much work than not enough so can't complain. My misses works most Sundays.

Cliffhanger,
Are you up for dragging you sorry ar5e up to the bowl near the cray reservoir :nananana:
The forecast says NE 15mph and overcast. whatchyathink? Anyone else feel like a walk instead of work?
Or how about the Wrecker?
Trying to think of somewhere lower incase of clag and can't. Anyone know of any low level slopes suitable for NE?

If it is clear tomorrow, I think I might spend the afternoon on the crest. No roads to cross for landing and NE is a shorter walk than SE

Clayt- 4cast looking good for tom. with N.E. winds ~14mph.
There's Wales rugby on in the avro (2.00pm ko) but are you up for the morning at the Wrecker area? I could get there for around 09.30 'til ~12.30.

Mike- just woken up(late!) and seen your note.

Bit late to get myself together now and get to the Bwlch.

I've been thinking for a while of chucking a foamie off Mumbles hill above Knab Rock and Verdis restuarant, the cliff is about 100' high and faces N.E.
I reckon today will be the day! ;D :D

Those imperial measurements are all foreign to me mate and I haven't weighed my Lumberjack..... But if I held your plane in my left hand and my plane in my right, I'd be able to give a comparison. If it was a close call, I might have to change hands a couple of times to make a decision ;D ;D

Seriously, if it is blowy enough and you don't hang on the elevetor, it will fly :co

Andrew- just looked back in my note book and my AUW with some extra carbon was ~37ozs
I calculated the wing area to be 3.64 sq. ft. so your weight of 40 ozs would give 11 oz/sq ft- pretty light really!
I reckon it would fly nicely in winds from ~16mph. Above ~25-30 mph think of adding some of that ballast! :af

Yep Clayt- flew the Segway for half an hour above the Knab rock area. Reckon I'll dig out the molded "Gull" one summer evening when the wind's right and do some loops and rolls for the people strolling the promenade :)
