What about a small free flight model designed to look like a medium sized rc model? If i could find something with a wingspan of about 2 foot then that would be good

But mine looks very similar, just with silver ali parts. I've glued the tailplane on mine because i didn't trust that one bolt to hold the whole lot on.

the other place i got springs from was a tool supplier that came to the SAA airshow. aparently he does some of the LMA show too. he was doing a A5 size selction box of springs both tension and compression for £1!! the box alone is worth that!!

while i think about it, is this cub the same or similar size to the world models 1/3 one???

world models cub is 141'', this is 132''

hmm.. not sure how many they have left. let someone from yt know if you want one as they don't have deliveries very often although they may have the odd one in stock 

engine ran for the first time today, it sounds great. It's a bit smokey though. I seem to have it tuned correctly now and i don't think i'll need an onboard glow. Been taxiing it up and down the street

Got a 62 in the world models one. Flys it very scale like. Fancy an 80 twin just to liven it up a bit.

Hi James. I feel the Gemini will be at the lowest end of the power scale, but should fly quite scale like but with nowt in reserve. I hope I'm wrong though as the sound would be great in the Cub. I am still up for testing it for you at Ashbourne if you still want me to. Just give me some notice so I can make arrangements to get up there when you like.

Didn't you say on another thread that you have an OS Pegasus, they're a 320 aren't they, which is about 53cc.  Why not fit that into it?

Paul's mentioned one a couple of times, that could be where you're getting mixed up. I have a SC400 radial on back order though 

I have installed Spectrum Rx with two Satellites and a data logger. I am a great believer of Spectrum and have showed that on the aircraft.

I would have thought Spektrum would be a better choice myself

I think everyone's getting confused because Wayne's stealing my thread all the time 
I've started on mine again today and made some aluminium engine stand offs at college on friday to replace the wooden blocks. I've also made some manifold extentions to take the fuel and oil out of the cowl. I've got the doors operating correctly and all control surfaces apart from one aileron. Fuel tank is installed now, so i've been taxiing up and down the street where a gust of wind gave it it's first hop 
Really pleased with the engine, it's so reliable when starting, 3 turns backwards to prime and one flick forwards to start, only problem is that it's quite thirsty and i got through about £20 of fuel today tuning the engine   

The sound is nice, though...

I have to raise my eye browse at what you have put and agree with Bobt.

Some off us have been in this hobby for many years and it only takes one small spark to set alight the fire.  There are places where to do things and where not to and in a street my friend is not one of them.

the size of this aircraft is some 130".  We have to be mindfull of our actions and who we affect

James , we know that you are young but doing that is just plain stupid and irresponsible ! Just supposing someone was to have walked out in front of it ? Models take long enough to stop on a grass runway and even further on tarmac ! You say that you have your a certificate ? Have you read the BMFA hand book about where models should be operated ? Even taxiing your model is operating it ! Was your father with you or were you on your own ? Either way i Dont think what you did was clever in fact i think you are a liability by the way you behaved ! Mickey
