Its Typical, it sounds like the best meeting for some years and its the only one I have missed in years.

Im booked into the NATS with a Hotel Booked nearby so as long as the plane lands Saturday Morning and I dont get hung up in Customs we still hope to Fly the Nats Saturday Afternoon.

Got everything crossed we can all fly.

Talking of which did everyone get their B Certs that need them?

Rob

I would just like to say a massive thankyou to Paul B, Barrie Lever, and ( I cant believe I am doing this )  but Ollie Witt as well as the rest of the F3d and F5d guys that made Dunc and I so welcome last weekend.  Without a doubt, one of the best and most fun weekends flying I have had in a long while.
 Just when I was starting to get a little bit despondent with toy plane flying and dare I say it.... bored, my little dabble at Pylon has totally rejuvenated my desire to get out and fly.
 I cant wait for the next meet, and am boring the guys at work with stories of the weekend...
 Oh and congrats to Dunc. Hands up. Your flying really did impress with with its consistency!
 Regards Al

Seems the new lot will be in front of the established F5D racers soon

John makes progress every time with the course flying I do not think he has been out of the top 3 when he has made a meeting .

Chris Martindale also beat the top 2  this weekend in his first full F5D meeting

I was assured that Dunc would crash but he surprised all of us with his flying and iam glad it wasn;t me that was giving him a lift home but well done Dunc .

Limiter or no limiter the flying I watched would of pulled your pants down Rob . Will get a limiter in it for next time then there's no excuses from the experianced corner

Race meetings are open for any one to come have a go electric / glow just let us know in advance what you are brining.

We wont mention F3D as I would of been close to  getting beaten by the new boy { with my motor } good job I fitted the tank  :nananana:

Thanks Paul for all your encouragement and help. I really enjoyed my first full meeting after a lousy start to my F5d career at Barkston Heath in June.

Also a big thanks must go to Geb Jones and Dave Cline for their patience and assistance as launcher / caller. These very experienced  guys gave me a great boost on the day.

Apologies to Ali for the short-cut I took on lap 1 of our first race :af My Demon seems to constantly want to go left all by itself at launch, however, during the day I developed a technique for getting away straight after Ben Jones confirmed that the control throws for flat out racing on the Demon are not big enough for launching with. So, launch on high rates and switch to race rates approaching turn one...definately seems to work.

All I need to do now is get my cicuits tighter to improve the already bettring times I achieved during the day at Wittering.

Nats entry went in on Monday (yesterday) so I will be joining all you F5D'ers at the Nationals...all I need to do is watch for that BL**dy post at Barkston wot I hit in June on my first round. >: :embarassed:

Get the Watts, Volts and  Amps flowing and KEEP YOUR FLYING SITE !

Hay Chris, I just noticed that you were sticking in the Sub 90's after the first few round. That is good going also for what is effectivly your first event.

I think its common for most of us to have a few flight settings.

I use;

Launch or gliding around - Max travel all surfaces
Race - Well rated and 50% expo etc.
Landing - Both ailerons up as far as they will go and only going down for roll control and elevator as launch mode.

I have this on a single sticks switch as in race contitions I do not want to be fumbling around. I also despite racing for 4 years now still like to pull up afer a race click into glide mode and take a few breaths before landing as landing with the hart still pounding from a race can be expensive.

Cheers

More importantly than thinking about Control line  $%&  You need to be sorting out if
A) You are allowed to even go to the nationals?
B) If you are allowed to go without the boss?

I was thinking of celebrating the fact that I am not messing around with big models for the weekend and go up without the Vanbo!
 That way the Ex and I can slope of into town of an evening and leave you and Dunc Baby and dog sitting.

There is still the bedroom in the awning if you don't want to hotel it. If you take the wife out, you take the baby to, be fair lol

Not my baby....... Well  ::)

 Mmm Bedroom in the awning or Marriot Grantham. Let me see. Only issue is missing out on a bit of the nightlife in the hangar, and not being able to drink. Although If I could sort a deal out with a local cab company then that might work.
