Thanks for the perspex ring ;D ;D  the tail, I am adding about 1 1/2" to the top and 1" to the bottom and then going to make a bigger rudder.  Who sells the shafts for the zenoah 38 reduction unit $%&

Great news on the rebuild  :af :af

I presume any reducer spares would come from Tony Clark too, so Ajays or Fighteraces etc

Ian.

just a note, DP aint officially at the NATS 2010  $%& , ian and meself aint flying there either as independants.

  chris

ps if its the output shaft thats bent, they are reasonably easy to straighten, have a word with Ian or Mudflap

That's true, Mudders straightened his at Rougham, just by using the prop and a bit of "brute"

So the 'Ian straightened the shaft with brute force' story wasn't a wind up !     Could you do anything with my trials bike front forks ???

Yes, of course, we need to clamp them in something very tight. Suggest we wait until Cosford and creep up behind mudders when he is bending over.

That should hold it!

Lastest update, the Mouse has now been completed (for test flights) with new rigging on the tail and between the strut pairs, complete new rudder and fin have been fitted.  New main struts have been made and fitted this has moved the top wing forward 1/4" to give a little more strength on the mounting.  A new toy was purchased, an incidence meter and the wings have been set up with 1 deg washout on both wings, so with all these mods and moving the C of G to 22% has ment an addition of 2.6kgs of lead to balance.  Weather depending we should have a test flight either tomorrow or one night during the week and if all is well will be flying it at the Large Model Day at Baldock next weekend.

Well chaps, test flight day, gentle breeze straight down the strip, take off was smooth and steady climb, into a left circuit and all was well, completed a couple of circuits before I had to land as mouth was dry and my hands were shaking so badly I had trouble with the controls, second flight was great fun and I am begining to learn how to fly it.  Landings were easy but needs power to bring it in, I think it will glide like a brick.  Chris Willis has some video and will up load later, but all in all it was really good to get it in the air.  Thanks to Ken Bones and Phil Noels for the support in getting this plane flying.

Not this was it Chris?    :ev

Ideal proportions, just look at the size of that huge fin & rudder - looks like they might have had a bit of a yaw issue by the look of the later photo ;).

It's very easy building aeroplanes with lots of wings you know :''
