Cracking news! I'll bet this is just the start. 2010 is going to see the UK catching up towards US speeds.

Also I see a new European record has just been set at 369!

Well we had a great day guys :af

Conditions were not really spot and got more southerly through the day, but we made the most of it, was blowing between 30mph and 45mph all day just a shame it wasnt bang on west $%&

I managed to up my personal bests with moulded and foam :af

Got 211mph with my D80 and 183mph with my Tank (54inch foam plank) and 167mph with the D40 just before it died :'(

The D80 had a lot more in it but i was so shocked at how it picked up speed i had to land for a coffee :P  did no more than 10 laps! george was on the gun and it went from 140 to 190 in 1 lap then 200 and 211,  at that point i needed clean pants,

Some really bad news from the day is that Zim had to leave his Splinter somwhere on the backside :embarassed:
She is sitting there as i type, servos whining and little blue receiver light slowly fadeing :banghead:,

Glad you had fun :af and congrats on the Pb's :co
Looking forward to videos

see you on a slope one day ........... eventually.......hopefully

Well done on the new PBs, hope you are going back soon Zim and find your splinter.

Is the D40 repairable?

Congrats on the new D80 PBs, more to come! :uk:

Most impressed with the Tank's speed, with only 54" span - wow!

Bummer losing your Splinter, Zim.  Guess someone will find it before long.

What happened to your D40, Adam?

D40 got hit by some turbulant air on the top turn, and the last i saw of it was heading vertical up towards the sun :o

I didnt see it come out the other side (couldnt really see much at all) so shouts "can any one see my 40" we were all looking for about 10 seconds (zim ran and hid behind a rock) and then i herd a whistleing at the back of us, there she was on her way to the bottom of the back side , so yanked on the elevator and expected her to just fly past and pop over the front side but about 20foot from the ridge that same bit of turbulant air slamed her in the grass, (when will we learn, skirrid and a tiny bit of south is bad news).

Funny how i thought she was binnage, but after close inspection yesterday it seems it just has a lot of delamination along trailing edge and drag spar, main spar is fine, and not a single mark on the fuse, so will be back in no time.  :af

Congrats to the D80 lads at RE today.
Adam deservedly was fastest but George's almost-as-fast 199 was an amazing achievement, representing a huge leap in PB; & Will topped it off with a PB too :)

Hobster, very untypically, had a significant incident with his (No.2) MCT; so was not able to compete in the increased wind toward the end of the affy.
The last circuit involved an up-leg gunning of 186, almost immediately followed by an almighty "bumph" as the MCT exploded on contact with the backside.
Cause is a mystery.
The forward end of the fuz was solidly embedded up to the wing securing bolt  & took ages to dig out. Everthing else in bits.
A tough afternoon, Steve, even you can't repair that (surely?). :'(

Should have had some interesting "onboard" DS video from the keyfob-camcorder mounted on the nose of my Halfpipe, but seems I failed to operate it properly.
Particularly annoying, as I got 1.4 Gb of much less exciting frontside stuff at the weekend.
Next time......

Steve, your MTC made a terrible crump as it impacted mate. Boo!
It could have been any of us with any of our planes, most unfortunate.
Still, one in 6 years... I'll take that too.

Right now  (0036 hrs), it's blowing  a SSW  20+.
Wish I didn't have work in the morning!

Hoping to get free midday.
MO still showing heavy showers, but Beeb (FWIW) indicating should be few & far between hereabouts.

Yup, really good day at RE, only one shower the whole day & a really sweet backside; with (typically) less wind than forecast but plenty enough drive for fun.

Kiwi Steve & Jools hit the slope first thing in the morning (KS having to leave before mid-day, to fly a real plane to Tenerife), I got there about 1100 & Will arrived in the early affie.

This time (dumbass :banghead:), managed to switch on properly the keyfobcam attached to my Halfpipe.
Just watched through the results. Wow!!

Will try to learn the art of editing/uploading this weekend (sometime...) & post something, but 130 mph at about 6 feet over the deck means
(a) the camera frame rate can't keep pace &
(b) don't watch if you have suffer any degree of nausea (tho' a seasickness tablet might help) ;D ;D
