More to come! :)

Sounds similar to the conditions we had here Graham, 12-15mph winds and nearly dry.

No earth shattering speeds, Steves Carbon Sniper went 149mph and his SLE Sniper 120mph , my Lark managed 135mph, but it was just nice to able to get out and do some DSing again.

Video is of the Carbon Sniper, not very good quality but I was struggling to video and gun at the same time.

On the day we learned of Spencer's new WR (congrats), a brief report of today's events at RE is probably off the map.

But, FWIW, & particularly for those who yearned to be there on the basis of the forecast, it was less windy than yesterday!
Though a more kindly backside, so plenty of fun DSing but no big numbers.

Point of interest.
Regulars are familiar with the "westerly kick" experienced at RE. Today it was the most pronounced I've ever experienced - the wind directions recorded locally on XC both immediately before & after our session showed S or even SSE. At RE it was SWxS (215-220*), so well off to the right. But sweet.

What a day.
unfortunatley the gun went flat, so I dont know how good. But aparently I have a new PB but nobody knows what it was.
Started with the dragon to get warmed up, The brought out the D80. O baby, you lads must be getting sick of this but what a plane, and the smoothest laps i have ever flown. The compliments after where plentifull, but all i could say was "thanks guys but its not me, its the plane."
After 2 no flys I finaly got treated.
Was also good to see all the lads up there + some new faces. the usuals, the psds caln and a new face (Ray).

Great laps, Will! Smooth as you like :af
Sorry I didn't bring my gun. Your D80 run was certainly a PB jobbie :banghead:

After you left, further reduced the Floh's DS ail setting & slightly increased its ele.
Eureka! Converted into a fully controllable rocket.
With a full charge, had my best ever DS flight experience, right up to 7pm :)

........But......... had a frontside head-on with Ray's foamie while swinging-in for the backside landing (what probability in all that air - ring any bells?!) & it won't be rocketing any backside anytime soon :'(

But still a great day.
Where was everyone else? You'd think they had jobs to go to......... ;D

Cloud cloud cloud...
Adam threw the tank off for 2 x 10 second flights.
It was freezing.
We walked down and came home.

Rubbish and great.
The site, as we already know, has great potential just not yesterday.
Mark S arrived before we (abbo, Ron and myself) did and gave us quite a display to watch as we walked up the slope, I went up full tilt as abbo was waiting for Ron. It is a big walk worse than pen y fan or the skirrid I would think but, the potential his higher and very little Joe Public walking along.
Mark got some good fast laps in, and popped it down shortly after my arrival.
We had a chat and before I could get a flight in Abbo and Ron arrived. By this time it had started to blow on the back, But Abbo decided to give it a go. But the mct's where being bounced all over the place. We tried different areas but it was all rubbish. The wind had gone to far north and it was blowwing hard down the back.
I gave it a go with my mini Dragon at one stage just to get spat out, so landed before I broke any thing.
on flew his ballistic Front side and due to our bad luck kept it there.
The day didn't change, so we left after being up for about 3 hours and come home.

Speeds for the day.
Unofficial, mark s recons  there could have been 200 in it when we where walking up
official, Abbo go 171.

Cant wait to get back when the wind is better on. needs ne, or sw and we had way to much north.

Will

I finally maidened my MCT and yes Will, it was something you said! You better say something to Graham (Deckit) now because his is still in the box.

I only got to front side it at The Cloud (BC) but conditions were great with massive thermals too so wound up good height and followed therefore by good speed (in front side terms that is). She's all trimmed with rates etc set ready for DS. Even my 50deg flap limit proved enough to make the brakes work very well. Such a solid handling aeroplane it's magic. Can't wait.

I have tried, but it never helps, Graham and building is another story. The only chance you have is getting his wife to kick him out the house for a couple of days.
his Bird Build was a record, His Destiny repaired too.

Well done, if you want to give it some beans tomorrow, give me a ring but its gonna be a long drive.

Bloody cheek!
I filed down one flap's wiper months ago!

OK, nothing done on it since ;D ;D ;D

But HAVE repaired the MicroflohXL (alas, since defeated in an argument with a volcano on Lanzarote) & repaired/modified the Destiny (re-maidened to good effect at BC yesterday).

So, D80s watch out, Dessy's about :ev
