In my VERY limited experience with lamfilm 175 gives a cloudy type of finish with a dulling of the tex colour underneath whilst the 125 micron stuff allowed much more of the colour to show through. There you go, that's it ,i said "limited."

limited but informative, cheers Andrew :af

I remeber that day well Mike

The DS came off so bad because the X weave was not overlapped onto the fuz just butted up to the glass center strip so created a weak point  ::)
But yes no where near as strong as yours

Just finished covering an hp48 with just solartex/175 lamfilm,my first impressions are that it is as stiff as anything else i've seen, not sure about crash resistance though it feels very strong, probably won't have to wait too long to find out

Stuart:
Have you used water based lacquer/varnish on the B's tex?
Makes it slippier & more sh-one-t proof.

(I just love this discussion)

Isnt it all to do with the golf ball spinning in flight, thus the dimples creating lift and  making the ball travel further $%&
 Discuss please  ^-^

Andy, think i've got a can of that in my workshop left over from a car touch up :af

Stuart:

The Ron-Meister himself uses the stuff.
If you'd purchased a virgin Balistik from him, it would be so treated, & your sweaty expectant hands wouldn't trouble it one jot.

Believe the relevant stuff is available at B&Q.
It goes on as a final touch.

Balistik a great choice for front & back :af
Though to do it justice, don't ever over-ballast it for the conditions.
Trust me, I've had 5 over a number of years!
That's 4 standard/modified  & 1 DS special. The last mentioned was over 5 lbs fully ballasted......

Very interested to learn of 100 mph frontside & 150 mph darkside. I must have been doing something wrong! (Again  :banghead:)

If you get over 140 with it, I'll buy you a bottle of champagne ;)

But fast fun you'll have in spades :af

I've got no chance of travelling up to the Skirrid Tommorrow :'(
I'm definately going to arrange a trip or two up there this year though, to see all you DS junkies doing the biz and getting some tips from you all. I'm not sure of the mileage from my home but i'm sure it'l be worth it.
Look forward to hearing a report tomorrow evening on how it goes :af
Have a great day guys :co
