Beautiful job, Andy :af :af

Mine not started yet, nor likely to be for a while. Still too cold in garage/workshop to complete existing build/repairs. >:(

Intending to install wingtip ballast tubes too, so will be interested in effect on behaviour.
Only foamie I tried with tip ballast was one of my Balistiks, which didn't like it at all.
But of course the JW DSS has a very different planform & ultra stiff wing............ :)

Really easy stuff, if you now what you're doing, if not, then ask, there's no such thing as a stupid question and we'll help whenever we can (which is most of the time  :af)

Plenty of build thread on the net

Does it come with wafers...................what flavour is it...................... $%&

Andy's your man, George, but since it seems he's not on line & you're actively building today, FWIW my intentions are:

Loadable tubes located as near as possible in line with CG & abutting (& bonded to) a spar (that bit probably too late for you?) & a few inches short of the tips.
Max. about 3 oz using 3 slugs per side.

Maybe you have an old ballast tube you can halve? Especially good to use existing slugs!
(I'm already carrying too many types......even more weight to lug up the hills..... :'')

Oh, & a tight end-cap for each tube, to avoid machine-gunning anyone during rolls!!

sorry george Im here now  (busy starting the new Reaper ) .....tip tubes are about 13mil as I cant get 15 mil tubes in that far out . they are right on the cg   and about 2 inches in from the tip ....they are also as Graham suggests tied to the spar aswell although only at one end due to the sweep .I made my own tubes up but use existing ballast from my S15 , just cut straight through the foam and then cap the tubes top and bottom .

hope this helps

PS   yeah ive got 3 slugs per wing as Graham suggests

:'( got to raise funds...so my unbuilt kit is up for grabs...it's the standard kit JW60 not the DS version, but unless you're a DS specialist, this will still do the job as well as most others out there (I stand waiting to be corrected and shot down en flambe).
