PB - I thought the 'talking sh!t' thing was the only reason you did pylon?  ;D  It can't be for the winning....  :ev

Maybe longer, I just dug this from the 1990 Nats report in Radio Modeller

Social activity is the norm at the nationals and for some years now the Club 20 boys have indulged in a little control ine team race. I realise that in these sophisticated radio days quite a few readers will not know what a team race is. Basically up to three models fly in the same circle. The times are taken for each competitor to complete a set number of laps. At leats one pit stop is compulsory, ie the model has to be land, refuelled and restarted. A good pitman can do this in a couple of seconds but most of us take nearly a minute. Last year Graham Clarke invited Sport 40 and FAIflyers to compete also. I think he was a little overwhelemd when around 30 entries were made! - at one point there were three circles in full operation

There appear to be some slight confution ast to what motors are legal for mini goodyear.

PAW make a 1.49DS which is a plain bearing motor. This is legal
They do a 1.49CT which was designed for Mini Goodyear and it's only difference to above is it have a bronze bush and a longer venturi. This is legal for MGY and has been the standard for a while.
The 1.49BR has been made legal. This is a single ballrace motor that was allowed into the class to aid starting.

Hi All

can anyone join in the fun or is it hard core pylon boys only? I've got a mini Goodyear half finished and think it would be a good laugh

Cheers Kieth

if I'm struggling for speed, I'll cut a few feet off my lines ha ha. No I won't have a pitman as I'll be there with my wife and nipper, but I'm sure I can rope someone in

I've just had a really nice Team Handle arrive from Mike North that might interest you lot. It's made especially for this malarky, with the wires closer together for more finesse. I'm sure you can explain to PB what finesse is :D
