Very little DSing taking place of late.  Might be a factor...........

Flew 5 hours at RE yesterday including a few hundred laps in light conditions, but that can hardly be of interest to anyone.

Think you'll find it's just fine, Chris.

So long as the back is still.

At the initial steep section, that's usually a North but with tolerance of a bit of east.

But if you are taking a serious DSer, something penetrative with excellent energy retention, better to DS the "usual" section but pilot from a position below the footpath on the S'ly backside.

Good lookout essential, as always.

A short sequence of one of my MCT flights on Monday

[excuse the sound of my raincoat flapping in the wind, I stood just above the ledge that the camera was on]

Quite impressive given how shallow the back is, and nice smooth lappage!!
But.........how the heck does he see the thing on that bottom turn when it passes across the sun?

Braver man than I that's for sure. I have been on the skirrid and hardly flown because of the sun, but saying that I have been practising going the other way round quite a bit, and got nearly as good a speed that wrong was as I did the right.

Crikey... Just goes to show if one has time there must be plenty of DS sites out there waiting to be found.

Thuro posted this elsewhere on the forum - thought I would post it here as well - this is the kind of crash that we all hope none of us has! Like a rifle shot when it went in at well over 250mph. Ouch.

Yeah, I saw that one.

He'd need wings if he fell off there. Or maybe he'd just be given some at the gates...

Oh, hang on - it isn't 'fly it like you borrowed it, land it like you stole it', is it!
So that's where I've been going wrong...
