The best time for me to catch up on unread posts and posting myself, is early morning between 5.30 and 7 am. Very often though it takes ages for pages to load up, and submitting my own posts can take several attempts which means re- writing them every time :banghead: Does anyone else experience this annoying prob. The rest of the day is usually fine :xx.
Its taken 3 attempts to get this post through :banghead:

Yes, I find the site slow around those sort of times, although I don't think I notice it until after 6 or so rather than earlier, but I think that it something to do with the electronics doing clever things when the site is at its least busy.

We're investigating this at the moment.  We do recognise that there is a problem, please bear with us.

The only problem i have is when i'm typing out a reply of starting a new topic,

If the text that i write is longer than the page i get to type in, instead of droping down I you can see what i am typing it stay's where it is,

Another words i type off the page, and i have to hold down the down arrow to check what i have typed, as soon as i release the button it goes back up and the writing goes of the page again.

Most annoying.

This morning it was taking 18 - 20 sec to load a page.  A few days ago, 25 - 30 sec.  Always early in the morning.

Yup I see that problem too.  It's so bad, I usually end up typing the post in notepad and then copying and pasting it into the message window.

Out of interest, which browser are the people who see this problem using.  I'm using IE8 - and even this post is big enough to cause the issue.

The non scrolling post box is a browser issue. I don't know what is causing it, possibly an ad blocker or some security software installed on the users PC. It is either IE7 or IE8 that suffers (I have never heard of this in Firefox) Only a very small minority of users seem to have this problem.

I rather thought that would be the case.  It's not as simple as just 'muti line edit boxws don't scroll under IE8' because the same machine/browser is able to post without the problem on other forums.

The OS is XP Pro and as I said, the browser is IE8.  The only anti virus/malware code I have on this machine (so far as I know) is Window Live OneCare and I don't even have the Google toolbar despite any no. of apps that try to install it for me.

I'd certainly be interested to know if other people with this problem have a similar configuration.  Even when the post isn't multi line, you can tell there's something odd going on because the caret is flickering instead of just blinking on and off as it should.

Can't help wondering if the animated smilies and buttons have anything to do with it.  Very strange

This scrolling problem seems to be an IE8 issue - it can be fixed by runninmg in "compatability mode" by pressing the broken-page button next to the URL box. Once pressed for any given webpage IE remembers the setting and will always run in compatability mode for that site unless told to stop (by pressing the button again).

Is there anything that can be done about getting on the forum in the early morning around 6.30 - 8 am. before and since starting this thread its been very difficult to get  through, and if i'm lucky enough to do so its very slow.
Its the one time of day i can sit down and catch up on any added posts.
The past two days i haven't been able to get access to Rcmf at all during this time, then suddenly its fine $%&
Any thoughts or am i the only one with this prob :xx
