Some time in August, we hope! I'm just sorting it out with the team - since it's a Sunday and we need everyone here I have to clear the date not only with the lads but with their wives and families. Should have the date fixed by the end of this week, I'll post as soon as it's definite.

I'm going to try to get to this one Sara, so you may need to bake more cakes because I might want to make up for the ones I didn't get to.  ;D ;D ;D

No nuts of any sort though)   :''

Oh dear, that rules out the infamous Chocolate Brownie, but you'll be OK with the flapjack or the apple ginger cake.

Did you know that our turbines contain nuts? (yes, and before you ask, there are nuts in the factory as well .....)

Hi Sara, As you have heard I'm no longer a Jet Virgin, still very much a newbie to the flying of Jets.

My Boomerang is being built! At last. The story so far

There's more on it all in that post above.

I also have put the links to a couple of Vids.

I am asking the wife for permission to come and see you 16th August.

The Wren 44 I purchased 2nd hand from a Als Demo Team member is a manual start, how hard or possible is it to convert it to autostart or semi auto start?

It flys the Baby Boomerang very well indeed. Very pleased with it :uk:

Thanks Steve

Thanks, Steve! I've seen this on the other therads and been following it with interest. So many people over-power airframes, it's good to see something using a smaller engine with such success.

And from everything I hear, once you've flown a jet, there's no going back ... you're addicted!

Hi Sara, I think I'm addicted!

There's nothing quite like that feeling and that noise. Having said that, I'm addicted to many forms of modelling and I see Jets as part of it all. I have to say I did feel really good about my flying for the first time in years. I've been struggling a bit due to health issues - like adrenalin problems and to actually achieve this kind of flying and a sort of return to 'form' has given me quite a 'buzz' I can tell you!

As for Wren open days, I urge any one to attend, its a jet experience not to be missed.

The Boomerang with the smaller engine, kept light gets off the grass strip rather well. A mate of mine said the version he saw with retracts/P60 on a better grass patch at Tatton park took about 5 times as long to get off. Of course that could have been for a number of reasons, but the Wren 44 doesnt under power the model I'm flying and as you can see from a standing start - its off on a rather rough strip for jets!

Steve ;D

Dear Sara,

I hope you are well?

I just went to post the below and read about the staff holidays, I hope my email sneaks through before, If not and I don't hear I'll phone.

I just mailed you as my mate us installing my Wren 54 we built down at the Wren Open day last year in my Yellow Boomerang. The 44 is coming out and the 54 going in!

The model will get a slight refurbish as well.

I also have my Red Boomerang with P** that I haven’t flown yet. I’m going to get some more time in on my Yellow Boomerang first.

Come to install it today and we’ve got a bit missing, can you see my email. Not sure if its always been missing or its gone missing with us.

I think you have seen this one –

It’s the best landing! The seconds link

I’ve not managed to get out and do any more Jet flying as my health has let me down the last couple of weeks. In the near future we should be stocking Boomerangs via Ali and so we hope to have kit/ Wren combos available for our customers.

Not strictly Jet Flying, but I though the below might amuse you.

Vapor Flying….

See the pics of the cats at the end of the video. Yes…dive bombing the cats! With a Vapor…They love it.

I can’t tell you how pleased I am to have actually flown my own Jet model in the end. Despite being without energy! I did it and with a Wren too. I’m still on a big high!

I would really like to come down to the open day in August, but I can't be sure I can make it. I'm under the weather currently and not sure about it at the moment.

I would however stress to anyone interested in jets, go to a Wren open day. Its ace. :uk:

Cheers

Steve

Hi Sara,

Just about to email you and order a couple more engines.  ;D

I think you might know this Wren 44? - which I undertand was an early model. Its mine and I purchased it second hand. Its been in the Yellow Intro ( now re engined with my Wren 54 and yet to be flown with this).

I got it in an  Ali team flyers plane, that use dit as a demo when the 44 was first out. I think its been tweaked by your lot! It sure does go well.

See the Wren 44 in this Thread.

Nanos. Sprints and Wrens available at SWM

Its mine ( the Wren 44 in the thread)  and when I sell it I'm saving up for an auto start Wren 44 as with my mobilty as much as my aeromodeller instincts tell me - manual start is best - less wieght in the aeroplane, my mobilty and ease of use say...get an auto start you old F*rt.

I'm out next week Jet flying. Probably My Wren 44 powered Intro will be taking to the air with its new engine ( and Hitec servos - which have been great).

Steve

I'm delighted to hear that the Wrens are selling well with the Nanos and Sprints - that's great for all of us. Thanks for the links, too.

I'm really pleased  that you have got into jets now. I know many of our customers have been RC addicts for many years, but getting into jets seems to have brought a new level of enjoyment to the hobby for them. You seem to be experiencing the same thing. It's also addictive!
