 Hi,

I have committed to do a presentation  / demonstration on early radio systems at my local  model club...

I have a collection of working old radio's, escapements etc....

Now.   a little problem.... I can't find my Rand LR3 GG servo, so it's  going to be a bit difficult to demonstrate a pulse proportional system  without one..

I don't have time to make one like in the old days so has anybody got a Rand , Controlaire, Fleet servo  or even any Adams Actuators or  bits of ones they would like to part with please, ( I've got the bug again..I even rewound  and refurbished an escapement I built back in the dark ages, last night.)
Cash isn't out of the question  ;D

Also I dug my OS12 reed set out.. it still works fine..the reeds were humming away. I really need to re wire it , as I am  planning to put it onto a demo rig, but could do with some  of the old 7 pin McGregor plugs and sockets, ..( like they used on the single channel superhet Rx's and escapements etc ) or similar... Again, does anybody have some they would like to part with or have you seen any laying around at your LMS ?... Yes I know I'm clutching at straws here   :xx

Your help would be appreciated

Regards,

27mHz Shaun  ( ex 2.4G Shaun   ;D ;D )

Hi Shaun,  is it the next meeting or a later one?
Do you have a GG tx/rx set?  if not I could knock up a GG pulser for the demo.
Most of my old stuff is long gone but I can bring:
Dad's valve carrier-wave receiver
MacGregor single channel relay superhet, no actuator
Staveley 3 analogue, with Kraft KPS10's & Controllaire S3's
2x own design 27am trannies
KO DigiAce 4
DigiFleet 4 27am
Couple of old books, Ron Warings "Multi-Channel R/C", Paul Newells "Proportional R/C", Dave Hughes Slope Soaring book, few old photos, etc

wish I'd kept my remcon 12, terrytones & OS Pixie...

Cheers
Phil

Hi Phil,

it's for a later meeting....

I have a working MacGregor GG Tx and  Relay Rx

I  got an old Macgregor TerryTone, 2  kit Rx working again last night and found a very early Futaba superregenative set up in the loft..it looks like a small blue transistor radio... The Rx has a lamp in that glows when a signal is received....

I've also found a mighty midget motor.. If I can find some suitable gears, I could make a basic actuator for rudder and elevator....

I seem to remember that there were circuits available for POD's...( pulse omission detectors) and they could be used to trigger a motor escapement with the above set up.. or have I got that wrong.

I'll dig out my old GG books tonight.

I think between us we can certainly put on a show  of old stuff.. ( do we qualify in that catagory  ;D ;D )

Cheers,

Shaun
