I am in the midst of building a Luna , I saw/see no need for potting the keel/nose/front bit at all, I have preped the joints ( roughed them up a bit ) used good epoxy and put them together straight, The joint is as strong as it needs to be to sustain normal working conditions, If the Pilot ( not me ) stuffs it in then it will come off , ANSWER : dont stuff it in . At the end of the day the Luna is not sold as an indestructible model, Its a moldie and should be flow LANDED as such , then there won't be a problem at all. Its easy to over build these things and make ten times more work just for the sake of it . Why bother , Put it together properly/safely and go fly the damn thing

Ok if you have stong innards. - I choose to tape whenever landings are potentially tricky.
If you haven't got strong innards you should wear a kidney belt (see bargains at Lidl right now)!

It's my Luna Lee is fettling  :)

Just a thought - can we not slip a bit of EPP onto the end of the inner nose to act as a 'bumper' - stopping the potential 'tug of war' of pulling the outer off?

Mind you, it's up to me to make sure the landings 'flow' as Lee says...  :''

If you 'cobble' up the landing with a Luna then you should be made to go straight out and buy an SAS Wild Thing...........the Luna lands as gently as anything out there and hand catches on smooth days are entirely feasible even - she's a little beeeeeryooootie!

Hand catches? I like the sound of that  ::)

I already have a Wildthing - 2 year old it is. That's the model that started this whole game. I now have a Fusion, Blizzard, WR Fox, EvoWeasel, LEG Jart - and my first mouldie the Luna  :o

Onwards and upwards  :af
