I am proud to announce that Sloperacer :: Home has recently become the exclusive UK distributor for Manormodels. They will soon have D40's, 60's and D80's in stock for anyone who is looking for one in the UK. We have arranged shipping methods that allow the end user to purchase a model for the same or even less than I can ship them for. This will also save time as many of you in the UK can get a model in just a couple days instead if a couple weeks. I will always be here to answer any questions that come up so please do not hesitate to send a PM if you like. We look forward to serving you with the best customer service and provide you with the nicest models with proven track records. Cheers to Sloperacer!!

Best wishes to Manormodels & Sloperacer  :af

Reduced costs & stock in hand, too.  :af

Joe designs and builds a really nice plane, from what I've seen in pics (haven't seen one in the flesh, so to speak).  Any plans for him to branch into front-side designs?

The D60 is perfect for frontside. It will fly in light air but will handle ballast well. It will be making a good name for itself soon enough. On another note, yes, I do plan on making some frontside specific models. I have a couple designs in mind. I first envision the ultimate flight in my head then design a model to do the job later. Im looking forward to working on other models. My goal has been to bring a new model to the table every six months until I have reached 10. I have a long way to go but I am on schedule. Should have 4 models available by late summer. Then I can spend the winter working on next years flavors.

Hopefully the D120 will be available by late summer. The price is still undetermined but should be anywhere from $2000-$2500USD. It is a massive beast with 7LB wing joiners that sit just 30" in from the tips. They will be solid steel roughly 19mm thick and 57mm wide :o They will assist with spanloading. I will try to make some light weight versions as well. The Dynamics airfoil carries weight extremely well. The D120 will need to weigh upwards of 40lbs to have similar wingloadings to the D80's Im currently flying. I think the D120 will be the model to beat for many years unless I get the D160 working properly.

jeez the joiner/span ballast will need a plane of their own to get em across here!sounds awesome joe ,i,ll start saving,if i could have a black/orange and white color scheme with the letters gmb on the wing i can get some sponsorship from my union ...what do you think joe ,would this be too much to ask at this early stage?

My builders have moved to a new shop and took a little longer than expected setting up the new facility. They are currently working on the production tooling and are trying to finish a prototype model for me to inspect/test by the months end. Once I receive the model I can give them the go ahead to produce them. Im keeping my fingers crossed that I can have the first shipment by the end of April. Then it's about two weeks before it lands in the UK. As fast as I would like to have these things up and running sometimes there are setbacks. I really think we are doing a great job and a few weeks here or there to set up production on a new model should be expected. I am as anxious as anyone to see and fly one of these D60's. Please have faith in me that Im trying to keep as close to schedule as I can. I will continue to keep you guys updated as I get more news.

Absolutely - we have the full complement coming over - with this shipment we will be in stock of D40 (4 servo wing); D60 and the awesome D80. There are a fair few names down already, so please let me know if you're after one of them.

It's a funny thing - I've been thinking that seeing as I have a D40 and an 80, why would I want a 60? But from what Joe has told me so far, it sounds like this one will have something completely different to offer yet again. I doubt that I will be able to resist having one for myself either!

Not the fully moulded one, but of course Joe has been flying this design in the bagged version for a few years now. What I meant by it offering something different is that it so far promises to be unlike any other 60" out there. Should build out to around 50oz unballasted apparently, and Joe reckons it's the strongest built model he's yet done. He's putting together the first off moulded 60 right now.

Re the order book - no the 40's are filled, but the 60's have two left on the first batch, but we expect to have another batch of 40's and 60's following soon after the first.

Oh and the other great news is that Joe is now including the entire hardware kit with the D80 within the price, so we'll do the same, of course  :af

I see from that other place that Joe's big mutha didn't make the grade.
Too heavy to get on step and flicked in on the top turn.
Back to the drawing board as he says...

Shame really, that would have been some sight to see in the groove.

Ouch. That's gotta hurt.  :'(
I wonder if the motivation to build that big again will be so strong with the fantastic speeds coming through that the 80-100 inch planes are logging, especially with the D120/130 now being worked on for production.
Those build threads are a fantastic resource for any would be composite builder.
