Yeah no problem....that is of course if you want it putting back into more of a kit form than when you started the build :D

In all seriousness Steve, I'm sure it'll fly straight off the board no probs, excellent aircraft these PilotRC kits....not that i need to tell you that  :D! :af :af

I am sure on the day all will be good  :af

I am not allowed to crash it anyway, as I am starting work on my new warbird tonight so that should be next on the building table  :af

Well Steve and I managed to get down the field yesterday after work, just before the rain came along, it was a bit cloudy but not too bad, managed to get some flights on this Yak and got some vids   :)

The take off, just 48 secs as it went out of focus  ;D

Hi

I am also going to build an Pilot-RC Yak 35% this year powered by an Moki 150cc radial, but I am not sure which servos I should use.
I just want to fly normal aerobatics (not 3D) and I saw you use the HS 7954SH and HS 7950TH (together 5 servos) for your Yak 55SP 35%. I aslo have to install a power box (PMS Light 7,4 V) because I use the weatronic mirco 10 system.

Did you have any problems with zhis setup so far?

regards

Mirco

Sorry, only just seen your post  :''

Anyway, the servos so far have been great, massive power, great centralising and the fact I can get away with just one servo in each wing and on the rudder is superb. The one downside is this....

If you use these servos on a fully charged li-po direct, through an AR9100 and on long extention leads, then it is possible for one of the servos to "jump" now and again. There is a cure for this which I have not done yet which is to put an amplifier inline which apparently cures this problem, there is a 55 page thread on another site all about this.

If your using any form of regulator then this is not an issue as its only on fully charged direct li-po packs this happens.

Hope that helps.  ;)

ANother couple of vids as I managed to get a couple of flights on it over the last weekend. Sorry they are only sky parking, but its what I was practicing and this plane does it SOOOOOO easily  ;D

Hi

Thank you for the answer. I still have to decide 2 Servos or 1 Servo on the ailerons. Ruder and Elevator 7954SH / 7950TH. Maybe 5685 on the ailerons.

I use Weatronic and I am not sure wheater the Weatronic Micro 8 is able to handle the current of 5/7 HV Servos. So I have to use the new Emcotec DPSI RV 5 Mini which is able to supply the Servos with 7,4v and the Micro 8 with 5,9v.

Mirco

Hi ya

Well I am running just one servo per wing, and it has no blow back as far as anyone can tell so far, even with high speed aeros. The great thing with this airframe is it has 3 holes for servos in each wing, if you use 2 servos then use the outer two, but if you use just one servo, use the middle hole as it reduces any warping under laod. Works really well.

Best of luck with it what ever you decide to do  :af

Can I just ask is the centre hole in the middle of the aileron? If driving an aileron from a single servo it is advisable not to have it near the centre, about 1/3 is best. Having the servo in the middle has the potiental for both ends of the aileron to oscilate at the same frequency and if this happens flutter will start regardless of how stiff the pushrod is.

I use the term "middle hole" very loosley, its actually about 1/3rd or just over from the root  in placement terms, but is still the middle or centre or second hole in, which ever you prefer to call it. Hope that clears that up  :af

It works well what ever its called :af

That sounds like a good place for it, it's like someone thought about it when making the kit  ;D  :af

It's just I had seen people get caught by this before thinking they were positiong the servo in the best place and then still loosing the model to flutter  :af
