Hmmm - are there any model flyers who DON'T play guitar?PDR
There seems to be another trend developing ...Model planes and Watkins Rapier 44 guitars 3rd mention already...

Also did a lot of cycling (Mountain not road) in my college/Uni days........raced the Eastern Winter Series for 2-3 seasons in the early 90's, never very good, but was a good laugh. Cost of race bikes and the fact the 4/5 I used to race with all went our separate ways saw that die a death as well. Best 'accomplishment' was cycling Pen-Y-Ghent, Ingleborough & Wenside on 3 consecutive days.........(Still have a nice shiney Cannondale in the shed though!!)Phil
The Rapier was actually rather good for the money. £29 19s 11dA Strat owner once offered to swap trems with me.Bonded neck too IIRC, not like those crummy Fenders with just four 6" nails.
,twas a screw on neck - before trashing mine i dismantled it to give it a re-spray in a rather fetching shade of metal flake gold - straight out of the can
Ooh, my old memory must be playing tricks then.Unless there were both types.
Shouldn't we be talking about aeroplanes.
possible - although to be fair when mine got re assembled it gained a sort of bonded neck - wonderful stuff araldite when mixed with four big screws and the chrome plate
somebody mentioned a gibson flying v thats got flying in it
And of course we could go on and mention:Fender Mustang and Fender Jazz bass
Or indeed the Fender Mustang bass so beloved of guitarists.

If anyone so much as bring a guitar to the flying field..I`ll shoot him, I will!!Seems that the only `other` hobby is ruddy guitars chaz@2b.. who CANT play guitars
Not according to the thread title.
The clues in the title of the thread Owen
Hey- we have had some great nights at shows/flyins with an acoustic, a large number of tinnies and some slightly off-tune voices! Not forgetting the 'Langar Loonies', once seen, never forgotten!
please- thats worse than child cruelty!
Lest we forget... The modellers apparent guitar of choice..Shaun
Ah, memories. Yup, mine was a 33 but had a white scratchplate.... and there's a Dominator amp! Good old Charlie Watkins
In the past howover, I was an avid cricketer.......right arm medium fast outswing......shin splints, 2 knee injuries and lack of time put paid to that, though I did do some school coaching back in my secondary school teaching days (I also county trialed aged 18)
I miss playing, but I have a young family. That coupled with being in pain at the end of every game was enough for me. Still managed a five for and two retired hurt in one of my last games though
Played twice a week for a good 6-7 yrs........normally averaging 3 wickets a game at no more than 3 an over.
