Thinking of going. Problem is, I don't have many warbirds, not really special ones. Seems to be a gap in my collection... :''
Got things like a Dynaflite Spit, small Seagull spit, a Royal FW190, which hasn't flown for a while. Flown my Aerotec Stuka before. Seems most of my models are sport, or civilian scale.
Just wondering if the day is only limited to warbirds, or dependant on the flying program...

Got a YT 120 Spit to finish off and a 120 Hellcat. Won't get  finished, but maybe next year.

Don't be a don't be, be a doobie!

Woody has kindly made sure we wont have an insect problem on the day by offering to smear his 'queen wasp' tigercat in sticky glow fuel and place it in an adjacent field to attract all the insects  ;D
I've attached a picture of it stood next to pylons standard tigercat to show you how bright it REALLY is  :co

Hi ray pilots briefing will be at 10 and flying till 5,there is food and drink on site (even a full breakfast!) which will be on till roughly 4 o'clock.
If you've never been to langar your in for a nice surprise we've got plenty of space a BIG runway and a brilliant atmosphere with free camping for those who need it.
We would be grateful if you could let us know how many of your group are coming and rough types of models as we will be setting the slots up this week and like to have a good idea on numbers so everbody gets plenty of flying in.

Thanks to everyone at the Langar club who helped me shake down my big Trojan.
Really good bunch of people, a big flying area and great facilities.

I have a feeling that this event is going to be very popular! Lets hope that the Weather will help make it even better  :)

Been to langar today and spoke with farmer about his crop of wheat...

during the summer months the club police a  no turbine model flying ban due to the possability
of one crashing in the crops and torching the lot ,,and possably loseing us langar airfield..

At the moment what with the rainfall of last week the crops are too wet to cut and harvest..
He is still hoping to do before weekend but its looking 50/50 at the moment..

The chairman bobt ,or myself will keep you all informed during this week with a final deceison near the end of the week... :xx :xx :xx for jets to fly at langar warbirds..

looks like a great event....

is it normally over subscribed... like norfolk there may be a risk i would have to drop out nearer the date so don't want to block out someone who would definately be able to go...

Hi there, thought so, I need to drop out to family "arrangements". Hope that is not a problem.  :xx

I reckon the farmer would try to cut the whole lot in one go, as it can't be stored too long, if they have to wait for the rest of it. I don't think I can make it, but probably get a load of warbirds for the 2011 warbird meet. I'll see what the Nats can produce.
Will be down in the bonfire do, though. :af

Good luck for the weekend, maybe pop by. :uk:

Be nice to see you there Ali. Best promise we can get from the farmer is that he will not work our fields Sunday, so no dust hopefully. It is touch and go with the jet situation. If the weather stays dry,....... :xx

No problem.
Apologies to those it affects, but the wet weather we have had has made it impossible to get the rest of the crops in before the weekend. This means we are unable to cater for turbine powered models at Langar, we have a duty to the club members to ensure the continuing use of our facilities at Langar, and the possibility of a fire caused by a crashed turbine would curtail our flying there. We had hoped to be crop free by now, but the weather has stopped us. Many, many apologies if you were bringing a jet, but it is out of our control. We at least have the assurance that the crops will not be worked on on Sunday, which is good news, as the dust is a problem.Bob. (LMAC Chairman)
