You'll be the 5th (that I know of) RC pilot / FS SLF pilot with QA.
There are a few places to fly in Qatar,
Main "club" field is Al Khor.
You could land an A320 on the runway up there.
Many many jets in use, many many 50cc+ Petrol models.
However, most Europeans find the flying to be just too nerve wracking at Al Khor.
Very friendly bunch, but "Rools" tend not to be very high on the priority list.
There is a lot of RC flying south of Doha in the desert close to where guys fly and train Birds of Prey.
You can keep flying in Doha.
3 Model shops in the city, all friendly, all with "staff" who will build for you, prog your TX for you (badly)
You can fly 'Lectric in Al Rayan park (just across the road from one of the model shops)
but the "how much does it cost, how high does it go, how far can you fly it" bunch get on your nerves in short order.
Weather is lovely now.

Hi Steve,
I think you'll be working with our good friend Giora Kahanov (ex Brymon Dash-8 captain) then from Ythan Bank. He's a top bloke and a keen modeller. Say hello from me!

Thanks Airwave...I had heard about Al Khor, but not the other two. I'm sure i'll find the odd spare moment to see what is going on there!
I'll keep my eye out for him Jamie!
Thanks Alex....I'll find a way!

Well.....after a slight change of mind, the Boston left Yorkshire this afternoon, amongst other items (read: less important furniture type stuff) on the back of an artic. bound for warmer weather.
Just 25 days sailing and hopefully she will be with us before Xmas.
Excited!
