spot the deliberate mistake with the bluebirds,

Why would a wing servo need such a long lead?

Actually I was scoring that as a *good* point, because it could allow the servo to be installed without an extension lead.

not sure about that. It would have to be a pretty long lead to reach the ailerons and a lot of wings have a wiring loom (e.g. mpx green) to connect the wing servos to the wiring in the fuse.

I tend to to just take the servo plug off anyway and solder it to the wire inside the wing. I don't carry spare servos up the slope so quick servo change isn't a concern. YMYW etc.

I don't think the length of the servo wire is too much of a plus or minus either way though!

I think (but might be wrong!) that the rules regarding how many models one can have are different in an F3B contest, so for them a field servo change is potentially important. So long leads are not so good.

true mate, but if a servo is good I would be prepared to crimp a plug on to a suitable length.

Even I'm not that lazy!

What happened to the edit post function?
Someone asked me why I said "don't even LOOK at that MKS Servo". It was a continuation of the Spinal Tap goes up to 11 comment.
I'd be more than happy to try them, as I said much earlier in this thread my MKS servos in my Bird60 just get on with it and work...

Not seen the Bluebirds over here - Jordan (our USA touring visitor was using them to good effect though) in his Typhoon - which went very well indeed, quite rapid in fact :af

The colours are a bit 'Marmite' but you can certainly see it :co

the luna pilot would still have been fiddling with his wing joiner, rendering a direct comparison impossible....

Oh the comparisons were made a couple of years back Tom - we have a 'yardstick' in the Luna that other contenders have to live up to :co

(but yes - rigging the thing is a pain)

If you are using "fast response" mode most analogue servos can't cope and jitter rather horribly.  If this is the case, if you turn it off, it should solve the problem.

Now before anyone jumps down my throat (as if they would - we're all 'mates' here - right................) - I see so many 'snags glitches problems and faults' reported on these threads as to beg the question 'how come you're so darn lucky Stevie Boy........... $%&

Anyway I'm feeling a bit left out - my 5125's don' jitter - how do I get them to then........... $%& :''

I know what you mean, Steve. I find the same thing with the 35MHz gear in my (currently exclusively) electric fleet. Apparently I'm supposed to get continual glitching and frequent shoot-downs, but no matter how hard I try I can't get it to do this. I've searched the manual and tried every option in the Tx software, and I've sent the gear back to Mutiplex and Schultze for investigation and servicing but STILL can't get any glitches. What am I doing wrong?

As I say, if you are on m-link check you are not using fast response with analogue servos. It's nothing to do with their "hitecness" or otherwise, it just doesn't work very well.

Don't worry - we've got the whole stock that was originally allocated to the USA but remained unused in a warehouse for decades because it came without instructions.
