perfect jon, thanks very much for that.

This is rapidly turning into an expensive 'experimental dip the toe in' passtime... a new Tx was also required for the flap mixing as my previous 6ex 2.4 is rubbish.  I'm just chuffed each new & increasingly expensive / fragile plane is a sure fire investment without risk.

Couple of things I forgot to mention (not wanting to teach about sucking eggs and all that  ;)) but dont forget to key the threaded rod before epoxying it in the carbon push rod, I just roughed mine up a bit with a Dremel to give it a key.

Also I laminated some carbon lengthways under the wing root for a bit of extra support/strength (I know many others have also doen this as it is a weak point (or certainly was on the early ones)

Cheers Jon, yeah I've read up about the FF and its letterbox wingseat cavern - that'll be getting rounded off and the carbon treatment for certain.   was also thinking about running some carbon strips top & bottom up the fuse from the tail hole, can't do any harm if they fit (after looking at cliffhanger's tail disagreement in the mom racing section!).

Clint - cheers for the offer but I'm sticking with Futaba 2.4 (mostly since I've started collecting their overpriced Rxs if that's logical). not as popular as multiplex / DX but I've opted for the 8FG, has a glider proramme mode so it'll keep me happy for a bit - ordered it at the start of the week.  What you upgrading to, mpx 2.4 all round??
See you up the hill as soon as the wind co-ops.

What's the concensus as far as the elevator control horns... make your own from PCB material then dremmel a slot/epoxy, or use traditional plastic jobbies that you drill holes for with the wee plate on the top side?
PS anybody be kind enough to post a close up of their elevator from underneath and possibly the flap horn??  Thanks fellas
