Myself MJ and Trebor opted for the hill at Totterdown, only 10 pound per car and in my opinion a great location, so Friday night was a damm fine curry and beer in Cheltenham with an 7 o clock start for Fairford how nice its only round the corner.

Best pas of the day at the hill was without dout the C17, though will say for the Worlds largest Military Airshow thought i was very slow up untill about 2ish, but then all was forgiven

    Excellent photos.

I thought UK airshows had a reduced max speed thats nowhere near the speed where shock waves started forming.
Did the Americans forget this or was the air pressure there a bit high in fairford ?

No doubt PDR will be along soon to answer.

Awesome pics lozza! Love the Raptor!! (can you guess what my new model is?)

I see they also had the Belgian and Dutch F16's there.  They were lucky to have the Dutch guy there - he almost smoked in during his practice at Yeovs!  Enjoyed a beer with him in the bar that evening, after he'd changed his underwear!!  Grin

WW - with all that exotic hot metal there, I cant believe you're getting excited about a turboprop transport!!  Evil

Stunning photos.  I'd noticed the shocks off the F22 as well - so somewhere above about mach 0.7?  The Red Arrows shot is great with the sun glinting off the airframe.

I see your standards certainly are not slipping Lozz, awesome as usual can almost smell the burnt fuel.
Me109 came over from Germany,BBC Breakfast interviewed the German pilot last week said it felt really strange but somehow fitting to be flying over the white cliffs of Dover at this time of the year and he thought back to the people who gave their lives for both countries in the B o B.

    Best guess Nikon D300 with a 300mm lens and maybe a 1.4X extension .
The gear makes no difference (well it does to this extreme ) its the guy behind the lens that makes the picture

Like saying to a chef after a great meal "you must have some great saucepans !"
