I'm surprised no one's brought DLGs into the equation - great for flatlanders, but excellent slopers too when the opportunity arises

The Blaster2 is very popular (there's an "E" version too), but looks like Kong Fu (available from T9 hobbysport) is a cheaper option for starters - the Mini Fireworks is highly rated too  :)

Here's a taster of some Blaster pros in action  :af

DLG = Discus Launch Glider

Have a look on the hyperflight and t9hobbysport websites.

The great thing with DLGs is they are extremely light & efficient, and will thermal on a fart. :ev

The experts can get launch heights in excess of 50m so plenty of opportunity for extended flight times if you can sniff out a thermal.

They can be pretty fragile, but are very versatile and great fun to have in your quiver... ;)

If you do decide that you can drive a little way to find yourself a slope and don't require a motor then I would again give a  :af for the T9 flying fish. Its an awesome little performer for the cash - and does actually come with the motor ring as someone pointed out, but you'll need to do a little work to get the power setup in I guess!
