I always wonder why these questions aren't asked in the electric section?
In that section they would probably ask a similar question! Why is it not appropriate in here?J
I always wonder how people manage to get themselves so worked up about where messages are posted
Here's a pic of my PSS MotorGlider:
EEK!! It's A merry can! You could have at least chosen something British! BTW, sorry to disillusion you, but it's not a PSS motor glider as I suspect it spends most of it's time under power, ergo it's simply an electric powered (scale ) model.
So does anyone have anything useful to say on this thread regarding hotliner setups?? Or is it that no one knows what will work
Alternatively you could try one of these, http://www.brchobbies.co.uk/?page=shop&item=671 This motor will enable you use a larger prop (13" x 6.5") on 4s than the Hobbyking motor you quoted and will therefore have more grunt (over 800 Watts (in)). I would use an 75-80A ESC with this motor. Good luck in your quest.
4S and 60A is going to give you a tad under 900W isn't it? It'll be different in flight but that does sound impressive...
Cheers Gumball, may well give that one a try
Before you do Steve, just be aware that the motor shaft will need reversing because as supplied the motor is a rear mount. You'll need a front mount in the Bandit. If you don't feel confident to do that, you could get this one instead.... http://robotbirds.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=5455 and data sheet......... http://robotbirds.co.uk/catalog/images/emaxgt.htm
Have you got a wattmeter? If so you can play with prop sizes to ensure you don't cook it. Then you have a guide for prop size/pitch to make it perform how you want.If not you really need one or I foresee magic smoke imminent!
GuysGot my Bandit in the post on Friday ...
Hope you don't mind me asking, but where did you get if from and how much was it? I tried Brian Anderson but he's out of stock. Thanks
