I feel a new monitor coming on.  The present one is getting very dusty and is a bit small (17")

LED, LCD?

Makes?

What are you using?

My 32" LCD TV. Best monitor ever. I have an HD graphic card in the computer and HD lead to the TV. Means I can download and watch HD films....

Do you play fast games? Do you want built in speakers, USB ports or even built in digital TV tuners. These days £100 will get a good quality 19" basic LCD which most people would be very happy with.

If you play games or watch films....you are looking for something with a response time of 5-8ms, otherwise you get ghosting and stuttering in action/ fast paced scenes. Something with a good contrast ratio 10000:1 or better preferable.

If you want it for photo editing....thats a whole new ball game, you need something with accurate colour representation, very high contrast ratio...

There are some which will do both and not break the bank. Let me come back to you on those, i remember seeing a couple recently i though were excellent.

There are very few true LED monitors, most are just using LED backlight rather than LED for the picture / image source.

All what the others have said I'd agree with.

Photos and CAD are the main use.  Look forward to further information.  Thanks
